Coniston railway station, New South Wales

Coniston ( CON-ist-ən), is a suburb of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia. At the 2016 census, it had a population of 2,268.Coniston is just north of the Port Kembla Steelworks and includes the Greenhouse Park, a one time waste pile converted into a natural park area with a weather station. The hill, known locally as "The Overseer" has a lookout over the city and Port Kembla. Coniston is also bordered to the west by the hill suburbs of Mangerton and Mount Saint Thomas. Coniston has a variety of businesses including The Coniston Hotel, formally Gilmore's Hotel, a bakery, 24 Hour petrol station and several other specialty stores. Coniston has long been serviced with its own Bulk Billing Medical Centre, Coniston is also well known for its successful soccer club, Coniston juniors.

Drummond Battery, also known as Fort Drummond, is a heritage-listed former coastal artillery fortification and now television station and mushroom farm at 1 Television Avenue, Mt Drummond, Mount Saint Thomas, City of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It was built between 1942 and 1943 by the NSW Public Works Department and NSW Department of Main Roads. The Australian Army used the site from 1942.

MacCabe Park is a small park located in the City of Wollongong, Australia. It is commonly misspelt McCabe Park, though the sign has since been changed to its correct name. In 1855 a land grant was made to Governor Brown, the present site of the park. It contains a playground at the north east corner of the rectangular area covered by the park, the local youth centre is in the north west side, and a sculpture called "Nike" is found in this area amidst a garden area. The youth centre has a small skating area and sometimes ramps and kickers are brought out, with a small number of fastened ramps present. The centre's walls are covered with graffiti and murals. A small strip of native plants and trees is present on the edge of the skating area. The northeastern area features a council operated art gallery and a war memorial, featuring a planted area and a canon. The west part of the park area features shops like Dick Smith bordering a narrow walkway underneath and between climbing plants. In the gaps between shops palm trees have been planted. Paths are present in the park and most of it is lawn grass. The southern end contains a man-made hillock with a smaller peak to its northern end and a larger slightly higher one at its southern end, with a circular amphitheatre of brick. In the southeastern and northwestern parts of the park are covered paths. In the eastern area is a community hall and carpark. The hall features a mural depicting a famous scene from E.T. The park area is surrounded by streets, the east side borders Church Street, Wollongong, the west side borders Keira Street, the north borders Burelli Street, and the southern end borders Ellen Street. The park is located in the southern part of Wollongong's central business district, only two blocks from Wollongong Central and Wollongong Mall. Plants in the park include palms, a few native eucalypts, grass plants, small grey leafed shrubs and a small planting of casuarinas south of the amphitheatre. Wollongong City Council has had a policy in place since 1990 to purchase the commercial properties surrounding the park as they become available. Eventually, these commercial buildings will be demolished to expand the public open space.

Wollongong railway station is a heritage-listed railway station on the South Coast railway line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the central business district of Wollongong. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Elouera House is a heritage-listed former nurses' home at Darling Street, Wollongong, City of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Cobden Parkes in his capacity as New South Wales Government Architect and built in 1937–39. It is also known as Wollongong Hospital Nurses Home and Eloura House. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Wollongong Hospital is the major tertiary referral hospital located in the Wollongong Metropolitan area, New South Wales, Australia. It provides services to the entire Illawarra and Shoalhaven Region, encompassing population of approximately 350,000.Wollongong Hospital has the capacity to treat complex and specialist cases. It provides all medical specialties including 24/7 cardiac intervention, aged care, Pediatrics, and all surgical specialties except cardio-thoracic surgery. The emergency Department in Wollongong Hospital is also one of the busiest in New South Wales, with around 50000 case presentations annually.Wollongong Hospital is also the principal teaching hospital for Wollongong University Graduate School of Medicine and School of Nursing and Midwifery. The hospital is also closely affiliated with the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute, providing research opportunities to address regional health issues and to improve clinical practice and health service delivery in the region and beyond.The hospital is currently undergoing $100 million worth of capital works enchantments which include a new elective surgical center consisting of seven new operation theaters and 60 new surgical beds. Wollongong Hospital will also receive a new 24 bed Intensive Care Unit/ High Dependency Unit, along with a multi-deck car park to accommodate 600 additional car park spaces. The project is set to be completed in 2015.

Mount Saint Thomas is a suburb of Wollongong in New South Wales, lying east of Figtree and South west of Wollongong. At the 2021 census, it had a population of 1,449.During World War II, the Drummond Battery was constructed in the suburb as part of the defences for Port Kembla.

Wollongong Central is a large shopping centre in the Wollongong CBD in the llawarra region. It is located along Crown Street which the main road of Wollongong.

Regent Theatre is a heritage-listed former theatre and cinema at 197 Keira Street, Wollongong, City of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Reginald J. Magoffin with an interior by Marion Hall Best and built from 1950 to 1954. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 9 May 2005.

St Michael's Cathedral is a heritage-listed Anglican cathedral at Church Street, Wollongong, City of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It is the principal Anglican church in the city of Wollongong and the mother-church of the Bishop of Wollongong (an assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney). It was designed by Edmund Blacket and built from 1858 to 1859. The property is owned by the Anglican Church Property Trust. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Old Wollongong East Post Office is a heritage-listed former post office, telegraph office and telephone exchange at 91 Crown Street, Wollongong, City of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by the NSW Colonial Architect's Office and built from 1890 to 1892 by Messrs Banks and Whitehouse. Prior to 1968, it was also known as Wollongong Post and Telegraph Office or Wollongong Post Office. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 24 January 2003.
