Pathways Academy is a Charter School located in Jacksonville, Florida, part of the Duval County Public Schools. It is located in the Downtown Campus of Florida State College at Jacksonville at 101 W. The main Downtown Campus comprises several square blocks of property connected by above-ground crosswalks. The campus includes several auditoriums for services, a Sunday school building, and facilities for First Baptist Academy, a private K-12 school. First Baptist Church has its origins in the oldest Baptist congregation in Jacksonville, Bethel Baptist Church, established in 1838. The church experienced a period of considerable growth in the mid-20th century, eventually encompassing eleven square blocks of downtown Jacksonville. Several former pastors, including Homer G. Lindsay Jr. and Jerry Vines, were widely influential in the Southern Baptist Convention, leading it in both growth and a shift towards conservatism.

Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) is a public college in Jacksonville, Florida. It is part of the Florida College System and one of several institutions in that system designated a "state college" as it offers a greater number of four-year bachelor's degrees than traditional community colleges. The college was established in 1966 as Florida Junior College. It has four major physical campuses and several additional centers located around the First Coast region and currently enrolls 52,000 students.

McKissick Jr. The historic church building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Thomas V. Porter House is a historic home in Jacksonville, Florida. It is located at 510 Julia Street, and was designed by New York City architect Henry John Klutho. On May 13, 1976, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Florida Baptist Building (also known as the Rogers Building) is a historic building in Jacksonville, Florida. It is located at 218 West Church Street, and was designed by New York City architect Henry John Klutho. On January 12, 1984, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The St. James Building is a historic building in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida, currently housing Jacksonville City Hall. It was designed by architect Henry John Klutho and opened in 1912. One of many structures in downtown Jacksonville designed by Klutho after the Great Fire of 1901, it is considered his Prairie School masterpiece.The building is located at 117 West Duval Street, on the former site of the St. James Hotel. It was designed as a mixed-use building containing the Cohen Bros. Department Store (later May Cohens). The department store closed in 1987, leaving the building empty. In 1993 it was purchased by the City of Jacksonville under the River City Renaissance plan, with the intention of remodeling it as the new City Hall. It reopened in 1997. On April 18, 2012, the American Institute of Architects's Florida Chapter placed the building on its list of Florida Architecture: 100 Years. 100 Places.

Edward Ball Building is a 141 feet (43 metres), 11-floor office building at 214 North Hogan Street in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. It presently serves as the Jacksonville City Hall Annex, housing several departments that were displaced in 1997 when city government moved to the St. James Building.

The 310 West Church Street Apartments, also known as the Ambassador Hotel, is a historic building located at 420 North Julia Street in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. On April 7, 1983, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Sub-Tropical Exposition was held from January until May 1888 in Jacksonville, Florida and seasonally in two subsequent years. Grover Cleveland attended the opening. The exposition building was designed by Ellis & McClure. A brochure was published for the event including railroad information, fruit crops, a note on strawberries, flowers, and hotels. A yellow-fever epidemic hurt tourism in the years after the exposition opened. A fire damaged the expansive exposition building in 1891 and it never reopened. The building was torn down in 1897. A resorvoir took its place. Exhibits of agricultural and horticultural offerings included fruits, trees, flowers, farm crops and grasses. There was a Zoological Collection, an aquarium, sugar mills, cotton gins and other machinery, as well as a Seminole Indian style camp. Hotels, Florida towns, and railway routes also featured. A 47 page brochure was printed by DaCosta Printing and Publishing for the exposition. Harper's Weekly published illustrations from the fair in 1888. O. Pierre Havens published a cabinet photo of the bamboo building at the exposition.

The Bryan Simpson United States Courthouse is a courthouse and U.S. federal government facility in Jacksonville, Florida. It houses: The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division, and corresponding offices of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. A satellite office of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Offices for the United States Probation and Pretrial Services System, the United States Marshals Service, and the United States Trustee Program.The courthouse was completed in late 2002 at a cost of $84 million and opened in early 2003. It replaced the old former courthouse, which was built in 1933 and had many indoor air quality problems, including illness-inducing mold and mildew.The new courthouse comprises 492,000 square feet (45,700 m2) over 14 floors, with a secure parking facility in the basement. It was named after John Milton Bryan Simpson, a federal judge who served in several positions in Florida, after passage of an act of Congress introduced by then U.S. Senator Bill Nelson. The courthouse was officially dedicated on August 11, 2008.

JFRD is among the largest departments in the state and the nation. The department is made up of six divisions, sixty-three fire and rescue station locations, a professional career force of roughly thirteen-hundred individuals.
