Westwood Priory (priory of St. Mary) was a priory of Benedictine nuns founded in 1153, near Droitwich, Worcestershire, England. It was a daughter house of Fontevraud Abbey, seized by the English crown in 1537 during the Dissolution of the monasteries.

The buildings have grown in size from the original administration, science, sport, languages and technology blocks. The actual site for the School is an island. In August 1992, the drama and music block was burnt in an arson attack. The building took 4 years to be fully rebuilt. The Maths block was also struck by lightning in 2007. An Ofsted report in 2008 awarded the school a Grade 2 (good).Droitwich Spa High School celebrated its 40th anniversary on 9 July 2011 with a fête and reunions of old school colleagues. Previous teachers have included Chas Newby and Jacqui Smith. The High School became an academy in July 2011.In November 2011, Droitwich Spa High School was judged to be 'inadequate' by OFSTED inspectors, who issued the school with an official notice to improve due to the school "performing significantly less well than in all the circumstances it could reasonably be expected to perform". The school was visited by Ofsted following the notice to improve in November 2012 and was judged 'good' with 'outstanding leadership and management'. Ofsted recognised "...very successful action to bring about rapid improvement of all aspects of the academy's work."

The house has origins as an Elizabethan banqueting hall with Caroline additions and is a Grade I listed building. It was for several centuries the seat of the Pakington family. Situated west of Droitwich, it lies in the centre of its former estate, Westwood Park, which is Grade II listed in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.With its four diagonal wings, added to the original, early-17th century house at some time later in the same century, the house's design was a precursor of the Butterfly plan which became popular in the 19th century.

Droitwich Spa (often abbreviated to Droitwich) is an historic spa town in the Wychavon district in northern Worcestershire, England, on the River Salwarpe. It is located approximately 22 miles (35 km) south-west of Birmingham and 7 miles (11 km) north-east of Worcester. The town was called Salinae in Roman times, then later called Wyche, derived from the Anglo-Saxon Hwicce kingdom, referred to as "Saltwich" according to Anglo-Saxon charters, with the Droit (meaning "right" in French) added when the town was given its charter on 1 August 1215 by King John. The "Spa" was added in the 19th century when John Corbett developed the town's spa facilities. The River Salwarpe running through Droitwich is likely derived from Sal meaning "salt" and weorp which means "to throw up" i.e. "the river which throws up salt" which overflows from the salt brines.The town is situated on massive deposits of salt, and salt has been extracted there since ancient times. The natural Droitwich brine contains 2+1⁄2 pounds per imperial gallon (0.25 kg/l) of salt; ten times stronger than sea water and rivalled only by the Dead Sea.
