The Bishop David Brown School is a mixed academy status secondary school located in Sheerwater, (Woking), Surrey, England.

Sheerwater is a residential neighbourhood or small suburb of Woking, in the Woking district in Surrey, England, occasionally described as a village, between West Byfleet and Horsell. Its border is defined to the north by a gently winding part of the Basingstoke Canal and to the south by the South West Main Line which passes from cutting level to that of an embankment. The neighbourhood has a business park and light industry at its south-western end. The whole area is linear, includes diverse green spaces to north and south, and covers 92 hectares (230 acres).

Woodham is a suburban village in Surrey next to New Haw and contiguous with two suburbs of Woking: Sheerwater and West Byfleet.

The Muslim Burial Ground, in the town of Woking in the English county of Surrey, was the original resting place of two dozen Muslim soldiers who died during World War I and World War II. It is now a peace garden dedicated to all the Muslim soldiers of the British Indian Army who died during both wars. The site measures about 120 feet (37 m) by 100 feet (30 m) and is located in the southeast corner of Horsell Common about 100 metres (330 ft) off Monument Road. It is a Grade II listed building.

Dane Court was an independent boarding and day preparatory school for boys aged 4 to 13 which was based at several sites in its 114 year history, but principally at Pyrford, Surrey, England. The school closed permanently in 1981.

West Byfleet railway station is a railway station serving the village of West Byfleet, which forms part of the borough of Woking in the English county of Surrey. The station is on the South West Main Line, 21 miles 54 chains (34.9 km) from London Waterloo.

Fullbrook School is a secondary school and sixth form in north west Surrey, England. The school has held Specialist Science, Technology, Mathematics and Computing College status since 2002. The school gained Grant Maintained status in the mid-1990s and was then given foundation status in 1999. In 2011, the school became an academy. Its main catchment areas are Byfleet, West Byfleet and New Haw with some pupils coming from Addlestone, Woking, Goldsworth Park and Sheerwater. The school has around 1550 students and there are about 250 students in the school's Sixth Form. In January 2017, Mrs. A Turner retired as head of Fullbrook School, and was succeeded by Mrs. K Moore. In 2022, Mr. A McKenzie was appointed as head of the school, coinciding with his lead as principal at King's College, Guildford.

West Byfleet is a village in Surrey which grew up around its relatively minor stop on the London & South Western Railway: the station, originally Byfleet and Woodham, opened in 1887. More than 1 mile (1.6 km) from the medieval village of Byfleet, the initial concentration of a new development soon established its own economy apart from that of a dependent London commuter village and spread in most directions to its borders including to the border of the old settlement, divided by the shielded M25 motorway today. The first place of worship was dedicated in 1912, the parish of West Byfleet associated with it was established in 1917. The village is bounded to the north by the Basingstoke Canal and to the east by the M25 and the Wey Navigation Canal. Forming part of the contiguous development centred on London and its stockbroker belt just outside the M25 motorway, it is 18 miles from London Heathrow and equidistant between the business parks of Woking and Brooklands. In local government it forms a ward on the same basis as its parish in the Borough of Woking.

Horsell Common is a 355-hectare (880-acre) open space in Horsell, near Woking in Surrey. It is owned and managed by the Horsell Common Preservation Society. An area of 152 hectares (380 acres) is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest and part of the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area.In the south-east corner of the common is the former Muslim Burial Ground, now an Islamic Peace Garden. There are Bronze Age barrows, protected heathland and thousands of trees. There are parts of the common all over Horsell, isolated from the rest of the common by roads. There is a large amount of wildlife on the common. The Sandpit area was the location of the first Martian landing in the H.G. Wells novel The War of the Worlds (1897) .

The McLaren Technology Centre is the headquarters of the McLaren Group and its subsidiaries, located on a 500,000 m2 (50 ha) site in Woking, Surrey, England. The complex consists of two buildings: the original McLaren Technology Centre, which acts as the main headquarters for the group, and the newer McLaren Production Centre, primarily used for manufacturing McLaren Automotive cars. The main building is a large, roughly semi-circular, glass-walled building, designed by architect Norman Foster and his company, Foster + Partners. The building was short-listed for the 2005 Stirling Prize, which was won by the Scottish Parliament building. By 2015, approximately 1,500 people worked at the Technology Centre. The Technology Centre also serves as the home to McLaren Racing, McLaren Automotive, and other companies of the McLaren Group. It was also the main setting of McLaren's cartoon, Tooned. In 2011, the size of the centre was doubled after a second building, the McLaren Production Centre, was built. McLaren is also planning an extension to this building to be used as an applied technology centre, as well as to house a new wind tunnel and simulator for McLaren Racing. The wind tunnel became operational by October 2023.

McLaren Group Limited is a British holding company based in Woking, England, which is involved in Formula One and other motorsport and the manufacture of sports cars.The group was founded by Ron Dennis shortly after his acquisition of the McLaren Formula One team in 1981, as the TAG McLaren Group due to a partnership with Mansour Ojjeh's TAG Group. The Formula One team had been established by New Zealander Bruce McLaren in 1963. McLaren Group was renamed McLaren Technology Group in 2015. In June 2017 it was announced that Dennis had sold his 25% shareholding in the company to the other shareholders, in addition to his shares in McLaren Automotive. The group then merged with McLaren Automotive to form a new company using the previous McLaren Group name.

Christ Church, Ottershaw is a Church of England church on Guildford Road in the village of Ottershaw in the Runnymede district of Surrey, England, about 20 miles south-west of London. Grade II listed, it was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott (1811–78).Sir Edward Colebrooke (1813–90), who came to live in Ottershaw in 1859, built a chapel on his estate in 1863 as a memorial to his deceased son and heir. Later this became the village church. The church, one of the few polychromatic brick churches designed by Scott, retains most of its original features. A tower, the gift of Edward Gibb, was added in 1885 and new parish rooms in the 1990s.The nave and chancel windows, designed by Charles Eamer Kempe (1837–1907), contain several examples of Kempe's signature, a tiny wheatsheaf. They were installed in 1901, replacing the original plain glass. Kempe also designed the altarpiece. Installed in 1901, it was made by the Sussex-based firm Norman and Burt and incorporates wooden figures carved in Oberammergau, in Bavaria, Germany. Two Commonwealth servicemen of World War II – Leading Aircraftman George Barnett of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (who died on 17 October 1943) and Corporal Alexander Cook of the Worcestershire Regiment (who died on 21 September 1947) – are buried in the churchyard.
