The Romanian Academy in Rome (Romanian: Școala română din Roma, Italian: Accademia di Romania in Roma) is a research institution under the aegis of the Romanian Academy, founded in 1920 by an initiative of archaeologist Vasile Pârvan and historian Nicolae Iorga. The site of the Romanian Academy in Rome is on the Pincio (Pincian Hill), near the Villa Borghese gardens, in Rome, Italy. The villa housing the Romanian Academy in Rome dates from 1933 and was designed by Petre Antonescu.

It also pursues academic instruction in archaeology and art sciences as well as arranging conferences with themes of interest to the institute. The Institute has at its disposal a building in central Rome with a relatively well-supplied library, archaeological laboratory and around twenty rooms and smaller apartments for the use of visiting researchers and holders of scholarships. The institute was founded in 1925 by, among others, King Gustaf VI Adolf, then Crown Prince of Sweden.

The Pincian Hill (; Italian: Pincio [ˈpintʃo]; Latin: Mons Pincius) is a hill in the northeast quadrant of the historical centre of Rome. The Cerasi Chapel or Chapel of the Assumption (Italian: Cappella Cerasi, Cappella dell'Assunta) is one of the side chapels in the left transept of the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome. It contains significant paintings by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio and Annibale Carracci, two of the most important masters of Italian Baroque art, dating from 1600–1601.
