Tampines () is a planning area and residential town in the geographical region of Tanah Merah located along the north-eastern coast of the East Region of Singapore. The planning area is bordered by Bedok and Paya Lebar to the west, Pasir Ris to the north, Changi to the east, and the Singapore Straits to the south. Tampines New Town is located in the northern portion of Tampines planning area. Tampines is the third-largest new town in Singapore by area, covering over 2089 hectares of land, and also is the third most populated new town, following Bedok and Jurong West. It is the regional centre for the East Region.

Ngee Ann Secondary School (NASS) is a co-educational government-aided autonomous secondary school in Tampines, Singapore. Founded in 1994 by the Ngee Ann Kongsi, a Teochew clan foundation, Ngee Ann Secondary School is a successor to the now defunct Tuan Mong High School. The school offers secondary education leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level or Singapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examination.

Simei MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West line in Tampines planning area, Singapore, at the centre of Simei housing estate flanked by Simei Street 1 and Simei Street 3 next to Eastpoint Mall. This station primarily serves Simei, a residential estate part of the larger Tampines New Town. Simei station and the estate it serves is a Pinyin romanization of four beauties in Chinese, which in turn was named after four ancient Chinese women.

Tampines East MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Downtown line in Tampines, Singapore, located along Tampines Avenue 7, near the junction with Tampines Avenue 2. This station, like most of the other Downtown Line stations, also serves as a Civil Defence Shelter. The station serves Tampines North Park, Tampines North and East residents and nearby schools such as East Spring Secondary School and Ngee Ann Secondary School.

The Singapore Flying College (Abbreviation: SFC) is a CAAS approved flight school based in Singapore. Established in 1988 under the Singapore Airlines Group, it is the training school for cadet pilots with Singapore Airlines, Scoot and Singapore Airlines Cargo. The SFC headquarters is located at SIA Training Centre, Singapore, in close proximity to Changi Airport and is where the ATPL ground training phase is conducted. On successful completion of Ground Training Phase, cadets subsequently move to SFC's other training facility at Jandakot Airport in Perth, Western Australia to continue with their Flight Training for the Multi-crew Pilot License. Singapore Flying College operated a third training centre at Sunshine Coast Airport, Maroochydore. However, due to changes in pilot training curriculum, it was shut down in March 2014 after operating for twelve years.Singapore Flying College conducts Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) courses for Singapore Airlines and Scoot cadets.

Tampines Junior College (Abbreviation: TPJC) was a junior college located in Tampines, Singapore, offering a two-year course for pre-university students leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination.

Eastpoint Mall (Chinese: 东福坊) is a shopping mall located in Simei, Singapore beside Simei MRT station. It was formerly known for its wide selection of educational and enrichment centres and its pet shop (The Pet Safari), which was once the largest in Asia. The mall is owned by NTUC Income, and is managed by Frasers Property.

Upper Changi MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Downtown Line in Tampines planning area, Singapore, located under Upper Changi Road East. The station serves residential estates in the vicinity and the campus of the Singapore University of Technology and Design, which is linked via an underground linkway. The station, along with Fort Canning, is one of the longest stations along the line, at 205 meters.

Pasir Ris Secondary School is a co-educational government secondary school in Tampines, Singapore. It was one of the first secondary schools to be established in the area, which was then known as Pasir Ris. Although the area is now part of Tampines, the school's name has remained unchanged.

The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) is the fourth public autonomous university in Singapore, located next to Upper Changi MRT station.

Dunman Secondary School (DMN) is a co-educational government autonomous secondary school in Tampines, Singapore. It was founded in 1963.

Changi General Hospital (abbreviation: CGH) is a 1000-bed hospital located in Simei, eastern Singapore. It is Singapore's first purpose-built general hospital to serve communities in the east and north-east regions. The hospital has more than 23 medical services, from general surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, ENT to orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. It houses six specialist centres – Breast Centre, Changi Sports Medicine Centre, Diabetes Centre, Geriatric Centre, Integrated Sleep Service and Medical Centre for International Travellers. The hospital is JCI (Joint Commission International) accredited.
