The John A. L. Zabriskie House, also known as the Zabriskie–Schedler House, is located at 460 West Saddle River Road in the village of Ridgewood in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The historic frame house was built around 1825 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 22, 2019, for its significance in architecture.John A. L. Zabriskie was a farmer. After his death in 1864, his son, James Zabriskie, inherited the property. It was later purchased by the Smith family in 1908. Florence Schedler, daughter of Carman Smith, lived here until her death in 2007. The village purchased the property in 2009, with plans to use it as a public park.

Paramus Reformed Church Historic District is a historic district bounded by Franklin Turnpike, Route 17, Saddle River, south side of Valleau Cemetery, and E Glen Avenue in Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The congregation was established in 1725 by Dutch settlers. The stone church was built in 1800, replacing an earlier building from 1735 and using the bricks of the old church. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 25, 1975. The church also has a small gated cemetery with graves of Dutch ancestors and a path that leads to a nearby residential street. The church was used as a hospital, barrack and prison in the Revolutionary War. The church is currently still in use. On November 16 and December 26, 2014, Joseph Galli of Somerville allegedly used a high powered AR-15 rifle to shoot inside the church. This led to the breaking of a stained glass window dating back to 1875. Him and Alexander Norell were charged with more than $2,000 in property damage and indicted for gun charges with an assault rifle.

The Terhune–Hopper House is located at 825 East Saddle River Road in the borough of Ho-Ho-Kus in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The historic stone house was built in 1790 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1983, for its significance in architecture. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS).According to the nomination form, the house may have built by Abraham Terhune, but more likely by his son, Albert Demarest Terhune. Hassel Garretson bought it in 1816, Peter D. Westervelt in 1839, and Jacob P. Hopper in 1854.

Ho-Ho-Kus () is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 4,258, an increase of 180 (+4.4%) from the 2010 census count of 4,078, which in turn reflected an increase of 18 (+0.4%) from the 4,060 counted in the 2000 census. The borough is the home of several historical landmarks, including the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn and The Hermitage. Ho-Ho-Kus was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on October 12, 1908, from what had originally been the borough of Orvil, which was in turn created on March 8, 1905, from portions of Orvil Township.As of the 2000 census, Ho-Ho-Kus was the 15th-wealthiest community in New Jersey with a per capita money income of $63,594 as of 1999, an increase of 36.9% from the $46,451 recorded in 1989. The borough's median household income was $165,827 in 2013. In 2011, New Jersey Monthly magazine named Ho-Ho-Kus the best place to live in the state of New Jersey, citing its affluence, low crime rate and the quality of its school system, as well as its proximity to New York City and other major commercial destinations.

The Ackerman–Demarest House is located at 605 East Saddle River Road in the borough of Ho-Ho-Kus in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The historic stone house was built in 1757, by tradition. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1983, for its significance in architecture. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS).According to the nomination form, William Cairns built a grist mill here in 1778. A house and mill are noted as Ackerman's Mill in 1780. Terhune is listed as the mill owner in 1791. B. S. Demarest owned the house by 1861.

The Ackerman–Van Emburgh House is a historic stone house located at 789 East Glen Avenue in the village of Ridgewood in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1983, for its significance in architecture and exploration/settlement. It was listed as part of the Early Stone Houses of Bergen County Multiple Property Submission (MPS).Based on architectural evidence, the house was built in the 18th century or early 19th century by a member of the Ackerman family. It was sold to John Van Emburgh, who later sold it to his brother, Henry Van Emburgh. The one and one-half story house features a gambrel roof.

Ho-Ho-Kus School District is a community public school district located in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, United States, that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 597 students and 49.7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.0:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "J", the highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Public school students in Ho-Ho-Kus for ninth through twelfth grades attend Northern Highlands Regional High School, which also serves students from Allendale, Upper Saddle River and some of Saddle River's students (who have the option of attending either Northern Highlands or Ramsey High School, as part of sending/receiving relationships with the two districts). In 2016, the Ho-Ho-Kus and Northern Highlands districts reached an agreement to extend the send / receive agreement through 2026 under a fixed-price contract by which Ho-Ho-Kus would pay $3.6 million for the 2016-17 school year, escalating by 2% a year to $4.3 million in 2025-26, regardless of the number of students from the borough sent to the high school. As of the 2020–21 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,364 students and 106.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.8:1.

Alpine Learning Group is a state funding approved private special education school in Paramus, New Jersey, United States. Established in 1988, the school serves students aged 3 to 21 with autism spectrum disorder, and it is known to be a prestigious educational and research facility utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) services.Although private schools are often independently funded, Alpine has each student's local district cover the tuition.

Orvil Township was a township that existed in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, from 1886 to 1919.The township was created on January 1, 1886, from the western portion of Washington Township and the southern portion of Hohokus Township (now Mahwah). The township straddled both sides of the Saddle River, extending north to the New York state border and south to Ridgewood Township. The township was named for Orville James Victor, a journalist and author who lived in the area.Boroughitis hit Orvil hard in 1894, with five new boroughs created from the nascent township. Montvale and Woodcliff (now Woodcliff Lake) were both formed on August 31, 1894. Allendale was incorporated on November 10, 1894, (referendum November 8, 1894) from portions of Orvil and from Franklin and Hohokus Townships. Saddle River was created by a referendum held on November 19, 1894 and incorporated on November 22, 1894. Upper Saddle River formed on November 22, 1894 (after a public referendum held on November 20, 1894) from area taken from both Orvil and Hohokus Townships.A further portion of the township was taken to create the borough of Orvil (now Ho-Ho-Kus) on March 8, 1905.On April 7, 1919, a council of citizens voted to incorporate as the borough of Waldwick from the remaining portions of Orvil Township. With the creation of the borough of Waldwick, Orvil Township was dissolved, after 33 years in existence.
