Eleanor Roosevelt High School is a small public high school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. Eleanor Roosevelt High School is composed of about 33 teachers and 500 students representing over 40 countries. Initially opened at a temporary location in Chelsea, with 105 ninth graders and a staff of eight, ERHS currently has over 500 students and over 45 staff members. Every year, the school selects 125 to 140 students out of over 6,000 applicants and is often selected over specialized high schools by students looking for a more liberal curriculum. In 2021, Eleanor Roosevelt High School was ranked the 81st best public high school in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

The building at its current location was dedicated in 1939, and consecrated in 1944.

The Lycée Français de New York (LFNY), commonly called the Lycée (in English, "The French High School of New York"), is an independent bilingual French school serving an international community of students from Nursery-3 to twelfth grade based in Manhattan, New York City. The Lycée is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools and the French Ministry of Education, though it receives no funding from the French government. The Lycée offers a standard French curriculum taught by French-trained teachers. In parallel, students follow an American program, taught by U.S.-trained teachers, similar to what is found in New York City independent schools. Students study for the French general Baccalauréat, the international option of the French Baccalaureate, or a special Franco-American Baccalaureate (BFA), as well as the American High School Diploma. P.S. 158 (Public School #158), named the Bayard Taylor School, is a public elementary school in New York City. The school is located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. It first opened in the mid-1890s. The school building occupies the entire breadth of York Avenue between 77th and 78th Street. The school reports some of the highest test scores in New York City. Therefore, it is considered one of the best schools in New York City. It was one of the first schools in the city to adopt very stringent teaching requirements to adhere to nationally developed performance standards in the 1990s. 88% of the teachers have a master's degree or higher. In 2010, 96% of fifth grade students performed at or above standards on state and city tests in the subjects of English and mathematics. The school's mascot is the owl, perhaps not coincidentally one of the ancient symbols of wisdom. In building was renovated in 2017.

Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) is a children's 501(c)(3) charity located at 405 East 73rd Street (between First Avenue and York Avenue), on the Upper East Side in Manhattan in New York City. It provides temporary accommodation for the families of children ages 0–26 undergoing treatment for pediatric cancer, and is the only facility in New York City to provide post-transplant suites outside of a hospital.The House was officially incorporated in 1979 as 26 room facility. It has now grown to be a 95-room, 11-story, 79,000-square-foot (7,300 m2) red brick building that was built in 1989 by the Spector Group. A "Fred Lebow Room" has been dedicated at the House.The House has provided support to over 35,000 families from over 70 countries in its 95 suites. RMH-NY provides not only a place for families to stay but many amenities, programs and support services, such as meals, transportation, tutoring and wellness programs. Additionally, an extensive lineup of activities and events for guests of all ages and backgrounds are offered every day. After long days of treatment, these programs help give children and their families a break and much-needed relief.As of 2017, the President & Chief Executive Officer is Ruth C. Browne.The House accepts and relies upon thousands of volunteers, as well as canine volunteers, in addition to its full-time staff.

The Church of St. Monica, commonly referred to as St. Monica's, is a parish church in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 413 East 79th Street, Manhattan, New York City. The parish was established in 1879 and in 2015 merged with nearby St. Elizabeth of Hungary and St. Stephen of Hungary churches.

Sasabune is a Japanese sushi restaurant located at 401 East 73rd Street (between First Avenue and York Avenue) on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, in New York City.The décor of the tiny, simple, Spartan, bright restaurant consists of white walls that, as The New York Times put it, have "an almost severe lack of adornment". The restaurant has six seats at the blond sushi bar, 14 seats at nearby tables, and 12 in a back room. The sound level is quiet to moderate.

Jan Hus Presbyterian Church is a Christian congregation associated with the Presbyterian Church USA. It is the oldest Czech Presbyterian congregation in the US, having been founded in 1877, and the church building was opened in 1888.The church is named for Jan Hus, a Bohemian priest who was a theologian and reformer. The church is in the area that was once known as Little Bohemia. Once a center of the Czech community, the church now has a diversified inclusionist congregation. The church ran an active Neighborhood House that promoted music, theater, and culture and operated a homeless outreach program. The church basement includes a 150-seat theatre that was home to Gilbert and Sullivan performing groups almost continuously from 1952 to 1975. Chicago City Limits performed there throughout the 1980s. Since then, several arts organizations have been based at the theatre. In 2019, the Session of Jan Hus Presbyterian sold the 23,000-square-foot (2,100 m2) church building located at 351 East 74th Street, New York City, New York, in Manhattan's Upper East Side to purchase a more modern facility to meet the growing needs of the congregation and their large community outreach missions. Their new property, located at 1745 First Avenue, New York City, New York, is scheduled to open in early 2020.

The Cherokee Apartments (formerly the East River Homes and the Shively Sanitary Tenements) is a four-building apartment complex on 507–523 East 77th Street and 508–522 East 78th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. Constructed in 1912 as a residence for people with tuberculosis and their families, the buildings were designed by Henry Atterbury Smith. They incorporated architectural features such as floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies, and interior courtyards that were designed to aid ailing residents. The buildings have terra cotta and brick facades with green tile roofs. Each building has a central courtyard connected to the street by vaulted passages lined with Guastavino tile. The complex was converted into regular rental apartments in 1924, and later became a co-op. It became a New York City designated landmark in 1985, and the buildings are also contributing properties to a National Register of Historic Places district.

The Forum at 343 East 74th Street is a 25-story residential condop building located on the Upper East Side in New York City. The building's location, midblock between First and Second Avenue on 74th Street makes the building visible from many parts of the Upper East Side. The building, which was completed in 1986, was opened to residents in 1987 and comprises 148 apartment units ranging in size from studios to three-bedroom apartments.
