Avon ( AY-vahn) is a town in the Farmington Valley region of the Capitol Planning Region, Connecticut, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town had a population of 18,932.

Avon High School is a public high school in Avon, Connecticut, United States, serving grades 9–12. The principal since the 2022-2023 school year is Dr. Stephanie Lockhart.

The Pine Grove Historic District encompasses a well-preserved collection of primarily 19th-century farmsteads, located near one another and a local district school building in Avon, Connecticut. Centered around the junction of West Avon and Harris Roads are four 19th-century farmsteads, one dating to the 18th century, and the 1865 Gothic Revival Pine Grove School. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Avon Old Farms School is a boarding school for boys located in Avon, Connecticut, United States. Theodate Pope Riddle, one of America's first female architects, founded the school in 1927.

The Avon Congregational Church is a Congregational Church building at 6 West Main Street in Avon, Connecticut. Built in 1819 for a congregation founded in 1754, it is a high-quality example of Federal period architecture, and one of the finest works of architect David Hoadley. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The congregation is affiliated with the United Church of Christ.

Canton Valley (commonly known simply as Canton) is a village and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Canton in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 1,580 at the 2010 census. As of the 2017 census the population was 1,489.

The Tunxis Hose Firehouse is an historic firehouse at Lovely Street and Farmington Avenue in the center of Unionville, Connecticut. BUilt in 1893, it is a well-preserved example of a late 19th-century rural firehouse with Queen Anne Victorian features. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 28, 1983. It presently houses a muster vehicle for Tunxis Hose Company No. 1, a local volunteer fire company.

The West End Library, now the Unionville Museum, is a historic library and museum building at 15 School Street in the Unionville village of Farmington, Connecticut. The Renaissance style building was designed by New York City architect Edward Tilton, and completed in 1917 with funding from Andrew Carnegie. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Farmington High School is a public high school in Farmington, Connecticut that serves grades 9-12. In Newsweek's 2005 poll, FHS was ranked #1 in Connecticut and #271 in the nation, scoring high on both the challenge index and the equity and excellence index. Presently, the school is ranked #5 in the state by U.S. News & World Report.In June 2017, a town vote to build a new school occurred. Advocates for the new building highlighted the severe aging and inadequacy of the existing facilities. Due to budgetary concerns, the vote did not pass. In June 2021, a subsequent referendum was held, with the proposed renovation estimated to cost $135.6 million; this referendum passed by a wide margin.

Weatogue is a village and census-designated place in Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut. The population was 2,776 at the 2010 census.
