The Dohány Street Synagogue (Hungarian: Dohány utcai zsinagóga / nagy zsinagóga; Hebrew: בית הכנסת הגדול של בודפשט, Bet ha-Knesset ha-Gadol shel Budapesht), also known as the Great Synagogue or Tabakgasse Synagogue, is a historical building in Erzsébetváros, the 7th district of Budapest, Hungary. It is the largest synagogue in Europe, seating 3,000 people and is a centre of Neolog Judaism. The synagogue was built between 1854 and 1859 in the Moorish Revival style, with the decoration based chiefly on Islamic models from North Africa and medieval Spain (the Alhambra). The synagogue's Viennese architect, Ludwig Förster, believed that no distinctively Jewish architecture could be identified, and thus chose "architectural forms that have been used by oriental ethnic groups that are related to the Israelite people, and in particular the Arabs". The interior design is partly by Frigyes Feszl. The Dohány Street Synagogue complex consists of the Great Synagogue, the Heroes' Temple, the graveyard, the Memorial, and the Jewish Museum, which was built on the site on which Theodor Herzl's house of birth stood. Dohány Street itself, a leafy street in the city center, carries strong Holocaust connotations as it constituted the border of the Budapest Ghetto.

The School of English and American Studies (SEAS) of the Faculty of Humanities of the Eötvös Loránd University was founded in 1886 as Department of English Language and Literature and it is located in Rákóczi út in Józsefváros, Budapest, Hungary. Along with the Department of English of the University of Vienna, the School of English and American Studies is one of the biggest English departments in Central Europe.

Astoria is the colloquial, unofficial name of a major road intersection in the Budapest city centre and it can also refer to a station of the M2 metro line. It is named after Grand Hotel Astoria at its corner. It is the crossing point of Rákóczi út and Small Boulevard. At its corner can be found the Humanities Faculty of the Eötvös Loránd University and the Hungarian National Museum beside it. Dohány Street Synagogue is located in the opposite direction, around 200 m far from this junction. Colloquially, a short section of the roads originating from the actual intersection, reachable by a few minutes of walking, can be also named Astoria (as in a neighborhood), for example "Az Astorián lakom" (I live on the Astoria) does not imply having a residence neighboring the actual intersection (which has few residential buildings), rather one near the intersection along one of the major roads. The neighbouring metro stations are Calvin Square and Ferenc Deák Square along the Small Boulevard and Square of the Franciscans and Lujza Blaha Square along Rákóczi Road.

Astoria is a station of the M2 (East-West) line of the Budapest Metro, under the eponymous square, Astoria. The station was renovated from 2003 to 2004. It was opened on 2 April 1970 as part of the inaugural section of Line M2, between Deák Ferenc tér and Örs vezér tere.

Kazinczy Street Synagogue is an Art Nouveau orthodox synagogue built between 1912 and 1913 Budapest VII. district, 29-31 Kazinczy Street number. It is one of the most characteristic works of Hungarian synagogue architecture before the First World War.

Szimpla Kert is a romkocsma, which means "Simple Garden" in Hungarian, located in the Jewish Quarter of the 7th district of Budapest, Hungary. The pub started as a place for people to find a cheap drink in a relaxed environment, but has grown to become a tourist attraction and community center. Movie showings, live music performances, an art gallery, the Kazinczy Living Library, the Szimpla Farmers' Market, and the Szimpla Bringa bicycle flea market are just a few of the community activities that are held at the bar.

Közkincs Könyvtár (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈkøskint͡ʃ ˈkøɲftaːr]; transl. Public Library) is a feminist library and community space in Budapest. The library's collection is primarily composed of English-language works in the categories of fiction, poetry, art, and sociology, with a heavy emphasis on topics of race, gender and class.

Danubius Hotel Astoria is a four-star hotel in the centre of Budapest, which opened on 14 March 1914. It has 138 rooms, including three suites. The hotel is managed by the Danubius Hotels Group as a member of its Classic Collection brand. It is located on the corner of Kossuth Lajos utca and Múzeum körút; the intersection is also named after the hotel. Some interior scenes from the film Being Julia were shot in the hotel.

The Rumbach Street synagogue (Hungarian: Rumbach utcai zsinagóga) is located in Belváros, the inner city of the historical old town of Pest, in the eastern section of Budapest. The synagogue in Rumbach Street was built in 1872 to the design of the Viennese architect Otto Wagner. Intentionally meant to serve the members of the Neológ community of Pest, its construction coincided with the Schism in Hungarian Jewry of 1869, and it became the home of the more conservative Status Quo faction. The Moorish Revival synagogue has eight sides and has recently been restored with a grant from the Budapest Government. The octagonal, balconied, domed synagogue intricately patterned and painted in Islamic style is exquisitely beautiful. It was built not as an exact replica of, but as an homage to the style of the octagonal, domed Dome of the Rock shrine in Jerusalem. Historically, but especially since the completion of its renovation in the summer of 2021, the synagogue regularly hosts plays, concerts, photo exhibits and other cultural events.The Rabbi of the Rumbach Street synagogue was Rabbi Shloime Boruch Schmalhausen until the Holocaust and deportation of the Jews of Budapest.

Első Pesti Egyetemi Rádió (First University Radio in Pest) is a Budapest based nonprofit community radio station, broadcasting from the campus of Eötvös Loránd University CCIR URH 97.0 MHz. It is informally named EPER.

The Budapest Ghetto was a Nazi ghetto set up in Budapest, Hungary, where Jews were forced to relocate by a decree of the Government of National Unity led by the fascist Arrow Cross Party during the final stages of World War II. The ghetto existed from November 29, 1944, to January 17, 1945.

Minta Gymnasium ("Model") was a secondary school in Budapest, Hungary, founded by Mór Kármán, Hungarian philosopher and educator who reformatted Hungarian school system. It is noted, together with Fasori Lutheran Gymnasium and the Piarist Gymnasium, for a number of talented students.
