Dorseyville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, United States, corresponding to the unincorporated community of Dorcyville or Dorseyville. Dorseyville was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census with a population of 159.It is in the southeastern part of the parish, on the southwest bank of the Mississippi River. Louisiana Highway 1 forms the southern edge of the community, leading southeast 1 mile (1.6 km) to White Castle and northwest 9 miles (14 km) to Plaquemine.

The plantation house is a Greek Revival- and Italianate-styled mansion built by slaves and artisans for John Hampden Randolph in 1859, and is the largest extant antebellum plantation house in the South with 53,000 square feet (4,900 m2) of floor space.

The Carville Historic District in Carville, Louisiana, is a 60-acre (24 ha) historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 18, 1992. It formerly served as a treatment facility for leprosy, and was called the National Leprosarium, Gillis W. Long Hansen's Disease Center and Public Health Service Hospital No. 66. In 1992, the district included 24 contributing buildings and two contributing structures, most built during 1939–1941 by architect/builder Neill P. Thompson. It contains the National Hansen's Disease Museum, a historical museum about the facility.

Belle Grove, also known as Belle Grove Plantation, was a plantation and elaborate Greek Revival and Italianate-style plantation mansion near White Castle in Iberville Parish, Louisiana. Completed in 1857, it was one of the largest mansions ever built in the Southern United States, surpassing that of the neighboring Nottoway, today cited as the largest antebellum plantation house remaining in the South. The masonry structure stood 62 feet (19 m) high and measured 122 feet (37 m) wide by 119 feet (36 m) deep, with seventy-five rooms (including a jail cell) spread over four floors.

Carville is a neighborhood of St. Gabriel, and is located in Iberville Parish in located in southern Louisiana, sixteen miles south of the capital city of Baton Rouge, on the Mississippi River.The childhood home of famed political consultant James Carville, the area was named for his grandfather, Louis Arthur Carville, a postmaster, in 1909, to differentiate the area, formerly called "Island" from the many other places in Lousiana with that name. "In 1917, On February 3rd, Senate Bill number 4086, an act to establish a National Leprosarium in Carville, Louisiana, is passed by the US Senate." That marked the start of Carville's nearly sixty-five-year history as the only place in America to treat leprosy until outpatient treatment became viable in 1981. Nowadays, that legacy is celebrated at the National Hansen’s Disease Museum, which educates visitors about the condition.

St. Gabriel is a city in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, United States. The city of St. Gabriel includes the Carville neighborhood and portions of Sunchine. Part of the Baton Rouge metropolitan statistical area, it had a population of 6,677 at the 2010 U.S. census, and 6,433 at the 2020 census.St. Gabriel was incorporated as a town in 1994 and received city designation in 2001. It is located on the east bank of the Mississippi River, approximately 12 miles south of Baton Rouge. Bayou Manchac serves as the official boundary between St. Gabriel, Ascension Parish, and East Baton Rouge Parish. Over the years, the area has been transformed from a primarily agricultural economy to one that is now dominated by the petrochemical industry.

East Iberville Elementary and High School is a PK-12 combined elementary through high school in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. It is a part of the Iberville Parish School Board. As of 2013 it, along with one other school, Mathematics, Science, and Arts Academy - East (MSA East), also in St. Gabriel, serves the portion of Iberville Parish on the east bank of the Mississippi River, which has fewer residents compared to the west bank.
