Pickering Nuclear Generating Station is a Canadian nuclear power station located on the north shore of Lake Ontario in Pickering, Ontario. It is one of the oldest nuclear power stations in the world and Canada's third-largest, producing about 16% of Ontario's power and employing 3,000 workers.Located at the Pickering station until October 2019 was a single 1.8 MWe wind turbine named the OPG 7 commemorative turbine. The turbine was dismantled in stages during October 2019

Durham Live is an entertainment district that is currently under development in the Canadian city of Pickering, Ontario.

The OPG 7 Gomberg Turbine was a Vestas model V80-1.8MW wind turbine in Pickering, Ontario. At the time of its construction, it was one of the largest wind turbines in North America, a 117-metre high wind machine commissioned in 2001 and designed to produce enough power to satisfy about 600 average households. This electricity was also emission-free. The commercial wind power industry has introduced steadily larger wind turbines to improve efficiency and the energy returned on energy invested. By 2008, the OPG 7 was no longer an unusually large wind turbine, with many new wind farms installing units of 3MW capacity and larger. However, this wind turbine was the only unit in the world to be directly on the site of a nuclear power plant. On September 30, 2019, Ontario Power Generation commenced dismantling the turbine as it had reached near the end of its design life. Demolition was expected to be completed by November 8.

Ajax GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the Lakeshore East line and on the Oshawa/Finch Express bus route. The train platforms lie along the south side of Highway 401 with access to the station from Westney Road at Fairall Street. A multi-level parking structure opened in 2013.

Ajax—Pickering was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that had been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2011 by Conservative MP Chris Alexander. Its population in 2001 was 100,215. The district included the Town of Ajax and the northern part of the City of Pickering in the eastern suburbs of Toronto. The electoral district was created in 2003: 57.6% of the population of the riding came from 43.3% of Pickering—Ajax—Uxbridge and 44.8% from Whitby—Ajax. Following the Canadian federal electoral redistribution, 2012, the riding was dissolved. The southern portion–including all of Ajax–became Ajax, while the northern portion became part of Pickering—Uxbridge.

Lakeridge Health Ajax and Pickering is a hospital in Ajax, Ontario, Canada that is operated by Lakeridge Health. The hospital opened in 1954 as the Ajax and Pickering General Hospital. It was founded in 1954 as the Ajax and Pickering General Hospital with 38 patient beds. New four-storey wings were added in 1964 and 1994. A major $80 million redevelopment project was completed in 2010. Almost 25 percent of the hospital was renovated.Management of the site was transferred from Rouge Valley Health System to Lakeridge Health effective December 1, 2016.
