Ajax (provincial electoral district)

Ajax is a federal electoral district in the Durham Region of Ontario. Ajax was created by the 2012 riding redistribution from the portion of Ajax—Pickering consisting of the entire town of Ajax, Ontario, and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect in time for the 2015 Canadian federal election.

Pickering High School is a Canadian high school located in Ajax, Ontario, within the Durham District School Board serving the east Ajax and west Pickering area. Specifically, the school is found in historical Pickering Village, Ontario on Church Street. The school has students in grades 9 to 12, and offers gifted, co-op, and special education classes. Some gifted classes include: English, Science, Geography, History, and Mathematics.

Ajax—Pickering was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that had been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2011 by Conservative MP Chris Alexander. Its population in 2001 was 100,215. The district included the Town of Ajax and the northern part of the City of Pickering in the eastern suburbs of Toronto. The electoral district was created in 2003: 57.6% of the population of the riding came from 43.3% of Pickering—Ajax—Uxbridge and 44.8% from Whitby—Ajax. Following the Canadian federal electoral redistribution, 2012, the riding was dissolved. The southern portion–including all of Ajax–became Ajax, while the northern portion became part of Pickering—Uxbridge.

Ajax GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the Lakeshore East line and on the Oshawa/Finch Express bus route. The train platforms lie along the south side of Highway 401 with access to the station from Westney Road at Fairall Street. A multi-level parking structure opened in 2013.

Ajax (; 2016 population 119,677) is a town in Durham Region in Southern Ontario, Canada, located in the eastern part of the Greater Toronto Area.The town is named for HMS Ajax, a Royal Navy cruiser that served in the Second World War. Pickering GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the Lakeshore East line and was the eastern terminus from 1967 until 1990, when service was extended to Whitby and subsequently to Oshawa.

Pickering (2016 population 91,771) is a city located in Southern Ontario, Canada, immediately east of Toronto in Durham Region. For centuries, it fell under the stewardship of the Iroquoian-speaking Wyandotte.Beginning in the 1770s, the area was settled by primarily ethnic British colonists. An increase in population occurred after the American Revolutionary War, when the Crown resettled Loyalists and encouraged new immigration. Many of the smaller rural communities have been preserved and function as provincially significant historic sites and museums. The city also includes the development of Durham Live, a multi-billion-dollar casino complex.
