Topanga State Park ( (listen)) is a California state park located in the Santa Monica Mountains, within Los Angeles County, California. It is part of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. The park is located adjacent to the community of Topanga, within the City of Los Angeles. Covering 11,000 acres (45 km2), with thirty-six miles of trails and unimproved roads, the park's boundaries stretch from Topanga Canyon to Pacific Palisades and Mulholland Drive. There are more than 60 trail entrances. Topanga State Park is not only the largest park in the Santa Monica Mountains, but it is also considered the largest park located in the limits of a city.

Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park is a 1,500-acre (6.1 km2) park in the Santa Monica Mountains, with its trailhead at the southern terminus of Reseda Boulevard in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California. The park was named for former Los Angeles City Councilman Marvin Braude, who for more than 30 years led the effort to preserve the Santa Monica Mountains. Owned by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, the park is within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park is in the California coastal sage and chaparral and the California chaparral and woodlands ecoregions.

Eagle Rock is a prominent sandstone pinnacle in Topanga State Park in the Santa Monica Mountains, California. The original name is "Elephant Rock" as the huge sandstone outcropping looks like an Elephant head when viewed from the north side. When the Park was created the name of the spring to the east, Eagle Spring, was applied to the peak. The rock can be reached by an easy hike, e.g. with the Musch Trail and Topanga Fire Road of Topanga State Park. The last part consists of an easy climb on one side of the rock to the top, the other side falls down steeply by around 100 ft (30 m).

San Vicente Mountain Park is a former Nike Missile Radar/Control Site in Southern California. The site is located on city-owned land above the Encino Reservoir along the unpaved portion of Mulholland Drive west of the 405 freeway. Access is by a short hike past a gate on a portion of dirt Mulholland Drive between Encino Hills Drive and Canoga Avenue.

The Palisades Fire was a wildfire that burned in Topanga State Park, in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of the city of Los Angeles, California on May 14, 2021. The fire burned a total of 1,202 acres (486 ha) and was fully contained on May 26, 2021.

The Robert Taylor Ranch is a ranch located on Mandeville Canyon Road, in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles, California. The ranch was built in 1956 for Waite Phillips and designed by architect Robert Byrd. It is about 112 acres (0.45 km2) large, with more than 20,000 square feet of living space.American actor Robert Taylor owned the ranch for several years before his death in 1969. The ranch was then purchased by Steven J. Earle, then sold in 1974 to Ken Roberts, former owner of the KROQ-FM radio station. The ranch is also the setting for most of the 1983 Sam Peckinpah movie, The Osterman Weekend. In 2010, the ranch was sold to hedge fund New Stream Capital to settle a $27,500,000 legal claim. On November 30, 2012, the ranch was resold at an auction for $12 million to Fred Latsko, a Chicago-based real estate developer. The auction was conducted by Concierge Auctions in partnership with Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie's International Real Estate. The auction firm and Hilton & Hyland identified 761 buyer prospects and 12 bidders in only four weeks.

The Murphy Ranch is a ranch built in Rustic Canyon, Los Angeles in the 1930s by Winona and Norman Stephens, who were sympathizers of the anti-semitic, white supremacist Silver Legion of America. The owner of record in 1933 was Jessie M. Murphy. Designed as a base for Nazi activities in the U.S., it was intended to be capable of being self-sustaining for long periods. The compound had a water storage tank, a fuel tank, a bomb shelter, and various outbuildings and bunkers. The estate's main gate was designed by Paul Williams, a well-known African-American architect in the Southern California area. On Monday, December 8, 1941, the day after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, local police occupied the compound and detained members of the 50-strong caretaker force.As of 1990, it was abandoned and in a state of disrepair, and covered in graffiti. The site is currently owned by the city of Los Angeles. In early 2016, many of the ranch buildings were demolished, as they were deemed unsafe. A few buildings remain, including the power house, an all-concrete building that once contained the diesel generators. All entryways have been sealed.

Crespi Carmelite High School, shortly known as Crespi, is a private Catholic all-male four-year college preparatory high school located in Encino District, Los Angeles, California. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The school was named for Friar Juan Crespí, and was founded in 1959 by the Carmelite religious order, and has been run by the Carmelites since that time.

The Encino Oak Tree, also known as the Lang Oak, was a 1,000-year-old California live oak tree, Quercus agrifolia, in the Encino section of Los Angeles, California. It was designated as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (HCM #24) in 1963.

The Cliff May Experimental House was built by Cliff May in the early 1950s as his family's fourth house and developed to push his ideas of "bringing the outdoors in" and open interior planning. The one-story, 1800-sf house is a simple rectangle in plan with a 288-square foot open skylight in the center. May's family of five created different rooms by using movable partitions. The family resided in the home for two years, while May determined how the sizeable skylight and open plan functioned for the residents there. From this experience, the home "Mandalay" was designed by May, which became the last home for his family. This house is located at 1831 Old Ranch Road in the Riviera Ranch neighborhood of Los Angeles. The house is located behind a locked gate and is not publicly accessible. Thomas D. In 2007, design firm Marmol Radziner restored the historic home, re-establishing the open floor plan, replacing the roof, and bringing the home up to current code. The firm also provided landscape design and interior design services.

Encino (Spanish for "oak") is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California.

Encino Hot Springs are historic thermal springs located at the site of Siutcanga village, a settlement of the Tongva-Kizh people of the area now known as Southern California. It was used by several tribes of Indigenous peoples for thousands of years. Later, after settlement, the artesian springs were used as a water source for Rancho Los Encinos in what is now the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles County, California. In the 1880s it was a rest stop on the Butterfield Stagecoach route. The springs are located in the modern-day Los Encinos State Historic Park.
