Lausanne–Bercher line

Echallens railway station (French: Gare d'Echallens) is a railway station in the municipality of Échallens, in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is located on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) Lausanne–Bercher line of the Chemin de fer Lausanne-Échallens-Bercher (LEB). The depot for the LEB is located at the station and approximately half all all trains from Lausanne-Flon terminate here.

Gros-de-Vaud District (French: District du Gros-de-Vaud) is a district in Vaud canton. Gros-de-Vaud has an area, as of 2009, of 230.78 square kilometers (89.10 sq mi). Of this area, 154.01 km2 (59.46 sq mi) or 66.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 54.62 km2 (21.09 sq mi) or 23.7% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 21.45 km2 (8.28 sq mi) or 9.3% is settled (buildings or roads) and 0.77 km2 (0.30 sq mi) or 0.3% is unproductive land.
