The Japanese School of Rotterdam (Dutch: De Japanse School van Rotterdam, Japanese: ロッテルダム日本人学校 Rotterudamu Nihonjin Gakkō) is a Japanese international school in Hillegersberg, Rotterdam.The Hague-Rotterdam Japanese Saturday School (ハーグ・ロッテルダム日本語補習授業校 Hāgu Rotterudamu Nihongo Hoshū Jugyō Kō), a Japanese Saturday school formed in 1996 by the merger of existing Saturday schools in The Hague and Rotterdam, holds its classes at the Rotterdam Japanese day school. The Saturday school rents from the day school and has done so since 2003.

The Boterdorpse Verlaat is a lock between the River Rotte and Strekvaart in Bergse Plassen in the municipality of Rotterdam. [1] The fairway was formerly used by vessels carrying malt wastes from Schiedam but nowadays is very rarely used even for pleasure. The lock dates from 1740 and has the characteristic performance of locks from that period. The lock walls are not brick, but of wood. The construction is up, along with wooden yokes. A similar lock is the Bleiswijkse Verlaat . Behind the gate is a fixed bridge, whose height in the closed position is only a few centimeters above the polder level .

Bergschenhoek (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌbɛr(ə)xsə(n)ˈɦuk] (listen)) is a town and former municipality in the municipality of Lansingerland, in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It is situated roughly 10 km to the north of Rotterdam. The town had a population of 18,475 in 2019, and covered an area of 15.52 km² (5.99 mile²) of which 0.63 km² (0.24 mile²) is water. On 1 January 2007, the town was merged with neighbouring towns Berkel en Rodenrijs and Bleiswijk to form the new municipality Lansingerland; these three towns collectively are known locally as the "3B Hoek". Due to the continuing influx of people to Bergschenhoek, it is in a constant state of expansion and is now predominantly a commuter town as most of its residents work in the neighbouring cities, such as The Hague and Rotterdam. The town had a large population increase since 1990, because of the Vinex-plans. The town grew from 7,600 inhabitants in 1990 to nearly 18,500 in 2019. The name of the town is derived from a district of the nearby city of Rotterdam, Hillegersberg. There was a road leading to this municipality. On a corner of this road ('hoek' in Dutch) a settlement grew, leading to a village. This village was named after Hillegersberg, and the corner was incorporated in the name, hence the name (Hillegers)Bergschenhoek.

Terbregge is a neighborhood of Rotterdam, Netherlands. Terbregge has a typical Dutch landscape with windmills, water and cycling routes that lead through the Lage Bergse Bos and the Rotte countryside. The district has a varied living environment. History The current district consists of the former neighborhood of Terbregge, which was built around a bridge over the Rotte in the thirteenth century. The hamlet of 'Terbregge' is known to have existed in 1524. The windmill "De Vier Winden" is located in the old part on the Rotte. The district is now mainly known for the adjacent traffic junction, Terbregseplein, where the A16 motorway leads to the A20 Old Terbregge Oud Terbregge has a village character and is surrounded by water and greenery. The core is located east of the Terbregseweg. The ribbon development on the Rotte is part of the old part. Residents are involved and the bond with the neighborhood is strong. New Terbregge Construction of the Nieuw Terbregge residential area started in 1999 between the Rotte and the A20 motorway. A playground for children has been taken into account in the construction of the district. The district also houses a sports complex where, among other things, the amateurs of Sparta play football. The Manna monument can be found on the noise barrier next to the district, which recalls the food drops in 1945 (under Operation Manna).

Schiebroek is a former village in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It is now a neighbourhood of Rotterdam, and part of the borough of Hillegersberg-Schiebroek. Schiebroek was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1941, when it became part of Rotterdam.

Lansingerland is a municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. It was formed on 1 January 2007, by the merger of the municipalities of Berkel en Rodenrijs, Bleiswijk and Bergschenhoek, collectively known as the "B-Triangle". The former municipality of Tempel, abolished in 1855, is also part of Lansingerland. The name was chosen from a competition and derived from the name Lansingh, the height-of-land between the Delfland and Schieland Water Boards, which runs between the "3B-Triangle" villages. The choice of name is symbolic: the name of the border that formerly divided the area, now unites it. The "h" in Lansingh was dropped to ease spelling.
