The Randen is a small mountain range located between the Jura and the Swabian Jura, north of the Rhine. Predominantly located in the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen, they culminate in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The Randen, which belong to the Table Jura (Tafeljura), are situated north of Schaffhausen and south of Blumberg. The highest peak is the Schlattersteig (930 m (3,051 ft)), which is part of the more prominent Hoher Randen (909 m (2,982 ft)) in Germany. Other important summits are the Hage (912 m (2,992 ft)), the Lange Rande (900 m (2,953 ft)), and the Schlossranden (890 m (2,920 ft)) with the Schleitheimer Randenturm (896 m (2,940 ft)) in Switzerland.

The Hage (or Germanized: Hagen) is a mountain in the Randen range between the Jura and the Swabian Jura, located between Beggingen and Merishausen in the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen. Reaching a height of 912 metres above sea level, it is the highest point of the canton. On the summit is located the Hagenturm, a 40-metre-high observation tower.

The canton of Schaffhausen, also canton of Schaffhouse (German: Kanton Schaffhausen; Romansh: Chantun Schaffusa; French: Canton de Schaffhouse; Italian: Canton Sciaffusa) is the northernmost canton of Switzerland. The principal city and capital of the canton is Schaffhausen. The canton's territory is divided into three non-contiguous segments, where German territory reaches the Rhine. The large central part, which includes the capital, in turn separates the German exclave of Büsingen am Hochrhein from the rest of Germany.

The Lange Rande (900 m (2,953 ft)) is a mountain in the Randen range between the Jura and the Swabian Jura, located between Schleitheim and Hemmental in the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen. After the Hage, the Lange Rande is the second highest mountain of Schaffhausen.

Opfertshofen

Opfertshofen was a municipality in the canton of Schaffhausen in the north of Switzerland. On 1 January 2009 Opfershofen merged with Altdorf, Bibern, Hofen, and Thayngen to form the municipality of Thayngen.

Verenahof

Verenahof (also known as Büttenharter Hof or Verenahöfe), nowadays part of the Swiss town of Büttenhardt, was a German exclave in Switzerland, administratively part of the German town of Wiechs am Randen (which is now part of the town of Tengen). Geographically, it was separated from Wiechs am Randen by a 200–300 metres (660–980 ft) wide strip of Swiss territory. It was absorbed into Switzerland in 1967 after diplomatic negotiations between the Federal Republic of Germany and Switzerland.
