Isar I and Isar II were two base load nuclear power plants which have been built in Germany next to the Isar river. They were fourteen kilometres away from Landshut, between Essenbach and Niederaichbach. As part of the nuclear power phase-out, it was taken out of service on April 15, 2023. The power previously generated by these nuclear power plants was replaced mostly by coal and natural gas, primarily sourced from Russia.
