Franklin/Van Buren was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Metropolitan Main Line. The station was located at Franklin Street and Van Buren Street in downtown Chicago. Franklin/Van Buren opened on October 11, 1897, and closed 58 years later on October 11, 1955.

The Brooks Building is a high-rise building in Chicago's commercial core, the Loop. It was built 1909–1910, in the Chicago School architectural style. An early example steel-framed high-rise building, the structure was commissioned by Peter Brooks and Shepard Brooks and designed by architects Holabird & Roche. The building was designated a Chicago Landmark on January 14, 1997. It was also determined eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on October 8, 1982; however, it is not formally included in the NRHP due to the wishes of the property's owner.

311 South Wacker Drive is a post-modern 65-story skyscraper located in Chicago, Illinois, and completed in 1990. At 961 feet (293 m) tall, it is the ninth-tallest building in Chicago and the 32nd tallest in the United States. It was once the tallest reinforced concrete building in the world. 311 South Wacker was also the tallest building in the world known only by its street address, until it was surpassed in height by New York's 432 Park Avenue in 2015.The lower level of the winter garden was designed for a possible connection via underground passageway to Chicago Union Station. The building also contains three levels of underground parking. The building contains both retail and commercial tenants.

Wells Street Terminal was a stub-end downtown terminal on the 'L' in Chicago, Illinois, located at Wells Street between Jackson Boulevard and Van Buren Street. The terminal was in operation from 1904 to 1953.

Congress Parkway Bridge, also known as Ida B. Wells Drive Bridge and officially named the Wagner Memorial Bridge, is a seven-lane bascule bridge crossing the South Branch Chicago River, providing an expressway connection between Interstate 290 (Eisenhower Expressway) and Ida B. Wells Drive/Wacker Drive. The bridge is located immediately to the east of a highway tunnel in the Old Post Office.

Both stations share studios on Fairbanks Court (near Columbus Drive and Illinois Street) in the Streeterville neighborhood, while WXFT-DT's transmitter is located atop the Willis Tower.
