Northwestern High School (Maryland)

The College Heights Estates Historic District encompasses 170 contributing buildings in a mid-20th century automobile-centered residential suburban area of University Park, Maryland, and the neighboring unincorporated area of College Heights Estates in Prince George's County. The earliest portions of the area were platted out in 1938, and the area was mostly built out between then and 1960. The area features winding lanes and dead-end roads, with large houses on generously sized lots. Houses built before the Second World War are predominantly Colonial Revival in character, while post-war construction includes a large number of ranch, split-entry, and Cape style houses, although they are generally larger than other similar houses built in other neighborhoods. Also distinguishing the neighborhood from others are a significant number of architect-designed homes.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The Mall at Prince George's, formerly known as (and still often referred to as) Prince George's Plaza, is an enclosed regional shopping mall located in Hyattsville, Maryland, at the intersection of Belcrest Road and East-West Highway (Maryland Route 410). It is served by a Washington Metro station, Hyattsville Crossing. This station is on the Green Line. Located across Belcrest Road from the Mall is the University Town Center mixed-use development. The Mall at Prince George's is anchored by Five Below, TJ Maxx, Ross Dress For Less, Marshalls, Macy's, and Target. It is currently owned and managed by PREIT.

University Town Center, formerly New Town Center, is located in Hyattsville, Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. It was a planned urban center designed by Edward Durell Stone and located on a 105-acre (0.42 km2) parcel at the intersection of Belcrest Road and East-West Highway and across from the then new Prince George's Plaza. The initial construction on this development took place in 1963–64; its buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A second phase commenced after the opening of the Hyattsville Crossing station, Washington Metro rapid transit station in 1993.

Ash Hill, or Hitching Post Hill, is a two-story brick dwelling erected ca. 1840, and located on Rosemary Lane, in Hyattsville, Prince George's County, Maryland. The house was built by Robert Clark, an Englishman who was seeking space and quiet in contrast to the crowded city of Washington, D.C. In 1875, General Edward Fitzgerald Beale bought the property. Beale was well connected and known to have entertained President U.S. Grant (a close personal friend who kept his two Arabian horses, Leopard and Linden, stabled at Ash Hill), President Grover Cleveland and Buffalo Bill Cody. The house, with its foot-thick brick walls and hilltop site, is an imposing one, made even more so by the massive pillared porch which surrounds it on three sides. The porch was added by Admiral Chauncey Thomas who purchased the property in 1895.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Hyattsville Crossing station is a Washington Metro station in Hyattsville, Maryland, on the Green Line. It opened on December 11, 1993, as Prince George's Plaza, referencing the nearby Prince George's Plaza, now known as The Mall at Prince Georges. The station has a unique layout in that it is an open-cut side platformed station with a parking garage directly over the tracks.

Adelphi Road–UMGC–UMD is a light rail station that is currently under construction. It will be part of the Purple Line in Maryland. The station will be located on the west border of the University of Maryland at the intersection of Adelphi Road and Campus Drive.

The Maryland School of Public Policy is one of 14 schools at the University of Maryland, College Park. The school is located inside the Capital Beltway and ranks 16th nationally for schools of public policy according to U.S. News & World Report (2012).

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC, formerly University of Maryland University College) is a public university in Adelphi, Maryland. It is the largest institution in the University System of Maryland. Established in 1947, UMGC offers online, hybrid and face-to-face instruction at education centers across the Washington–Baltimore metropolitan area, throughout Maryland, and across the world. UMGC serves approximately 86,000 students worldwide and is the largest online public university in U.S. UMGC is open to all applicants for undergraduate programs, and is among the top 10 recipients of the federal G.I. Bill benefits. The university offers 125 academic programs in online, hybrid and face-to-face classes, including bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, as well as undergraduate and graduate certificates. UMGC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The University Park Historic District is a national historic district located in the town of University Park, Prince George's County, Maryland. The district encompasses 1,149 contributing buildings and 2 contributing sites and is almost exclusively residential and developed as a middle-class, automobile suburb of Washington, D.C. The primary building type is the detached single-family dwelling, with the only non-residential buildings within the district and the town being two churches and the Town Hall, which is located in a former residence. Notable features within the district include the property's original plantation house, known as Bloomfield (Deakins House), and the nearby family cemetery. It was developed over the period 1920 to 1945, and houses are built in a range of popular early-20th-century architectural styles including Tudor and Mediterranean Revival, and varied interpretations of the Craftsman Aesthetic and the Colonial Revival, including interpretations of Dutch, Georgian, and Federal period substyles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996, with a boundary increase in 2012.

University Park is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 2,548 at the 2010 census.

The University of Maryland Art Gallery is the flagship art museum on the campus of the University of Maryland, College Park. The Gallery is a member of the American Alliance of Museums, Association of Academic Museums and Galleries, and the National Art Education Association.

The Tawes Fine Arts Building, also known as Tawes Theatre and Tawes Hall, is the home of the University of Maryland's Department of English and is the former home of the Department of Theatre and the School of Music. The Homer Ulrich Recital Hall is located in the building (named in honor of the former chairman of the Department of Music) which was the premier concert hall on campus before the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center opened in 2001. The building underwent a $15 million renovation beginning in 2007 and reopened in 2009; the university's non-commercial, intellectually driven UMTV cable television station is also housed in renovated facilities in Tawes. The building, constructed in 1965, was named after J. Millard Tawes, who was governor of Maryland from 1958 through 1966. The University of Maryland Art Gallery was initially housed in the Tawes Fine Arts Building beginning in 1965 before moving to a newly constructed exhibition facility in the Parren J. Mitchell Art-Sociology Building in 1976.
