William Park House

Hanover is a small community in Sprague inside New London County, Connecticut. In the 2010 US Census the population was 67, but in 2014 the estimated population was 59. The main road, Hanover Rd., leads south to Route 138 and north to Route 14 in Scotland, while Salt Rock Rd. leads to Route 97. The Little River runs through the eastern part of the area. Hanover Reservoir is the largest body of water in the area. In the center of the village, some notably old houses are located there. Some are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Sprague is a town in New London County, Connecticut, United States. The town was named after William Sprague III, who laid out the industrial section. The population was 2,967 at the 2020 census. Sprague includes three villages: Baltic, Hanover, and Versailles.

Mohegan State Forest is a Connecticut state forest located in the towns of Scotland and Sprague. The forest is available for hiking, hunting, and letterboxing.

Salt Rock State Campground is a public recreation area that preserves one mile (1.6 km) of wooded riverfront along the Shetucket River in the town of Sprague, Connecticut. In 2001, the state purchased the 149-acre (60 ha) campground for US$750,000 from Dwight and Jean Lathrop, whose "sensitive stewardship" of the property as its previous owners was recognized in the press. The state park offers RV and tent camping sites, swimming pools, and river fishing. The state curtailed camping services in 2016, reinstating them in 2018.

Ashlawn, also called the Joshua Perkins House, is a two-story, central-hall frame farmhouse dating from the 18th century in Hanover, Connecticut. The house's namesake is its first owner, Joshua Perkins, a farmer and son of the prominent Captain Matthew Perkins, a farmer and founding member of the Hanover Society. Ashlawn's main house has a five-bay front facade with pilasters supporting broken-base pediments. The inside has well-documented woodwork for its moldings and wainscotting. The house has integrated an older structure, likely a central-chimney structure built in the second quarter of the 18th century, as an ell. In 2002, the house was maintained by Ruth Rosiene, a descendant of the Perkinses. Ashlawn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an example of Georgian architecture and locally important for its connection with the Perkins family. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 4, 1979.: 258 

Baltic is the town center village of the town of Sprague, Connecticut, and a census-designated place (CDP). The population of the CDP was 1,250 as of the 2010 census. The Sprague town hall is in Baltic. The Baltic Historic District is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, encompassing virtually the entire extent of the village.

The Academy of the Holy Family (AHF) is an accredited private, Roman Catholic, all-girls college-preparatory school in Baltic, Connecticut, located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich.

The Edward Waldo House is a historic house museum at 96 Waldo Road in Scotland, Connecticut. Built about 1715, it is a well-preserved example of colonial residential architecture, which was occupied by a single family for over 250 years. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is now owned by the local historical society.

Merrick Brook is a stream that runs through the towns of Scotland, Hampton, and Chaplin, Connecticut. It begins at an unnamed pond in eastern Chaplin and flows down into the Shetucket River at the very southern part of Scotland. It flows through Clark's Corner, Hampton, and the center of Scotland. It offers many wild trout for fishing.

The Occum Hydroelectric Plant and Dam is a historic hydroelectric plant and dam north of Bridge Street on the west side of the Shetucket River in Norwich, Connecticut. The facility includes a rare surviving partial example of a large-scale dam built for a textile mill in 1865, and an early example of a hydroelectric power generation facility established in 1934. It is one of a small number of surviving hydroelectric plants in the state which was built before 1940. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Versailles ( VER-sails) is a village within the town of Sprague, Connecticut located alongside the Shetucket River opposite the village of Occum on land once inhabited by the Mohegan tribe.

Beaver Brook is a stream that runs through Windham and Scotland, Windham County, Connecticut. It is currently five miles long. It begins at Beaver Brook State Park in Windham, Connecticut, and flows down to Merrick Brook in Scotland, Connecticut. A saw shop named after it is located near the border between the two towns.
