Connersville High School

Connersville Township is one of nine townships in Fayette County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 12,282 and it contained 5,573 housing units.

Elmhurst is a historic home located near Connersville, Fayette County, Indiana. It was built in 1831, with later additions and modifications, and is a transitional Federal / Greek Revival style dwelling. Among its residents have been James N. Huston, Samuel W. Parker, Caleb Blood Smith, and Oliver H. Smith.: 2 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Most employment is retail, schools and healthcare. The county lacks a commercial airport and bus service, and has no major (U.S. or Interstate) highways. The county was created in 1818 from portions of Wayne and Franklin counties and unincorporated ("New Purchase") territory. Fayette County comprises the Connersville, IN Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The Whitewater Valley Railroad is a heritage railroad in southeastern Indiana between Connersville and Metamora. The railroad is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of a 1950s era of branch line railroading. It is now operated by vintage diesel switchers and road switchers during most of the year. Steam operations vary from year to year. The most recent steam locomotive donated to the organization is New York Central B-10W 0-6-0 #6894. It is nearly identical to the last steam engines operated on the line.

Fayette County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at Connersville, Fayette County, Indiana, United States. It was built in 1890, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Romanesque Revival style red brick building. It encompasses the earlier 1849 courthouse in its construction. It features a circular corner clock tower and topped by a steep conical spire.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Canal House is a historic building located at Connersville, Fayette County, Indiana. It was built in 1842 by the Whitewater Valley Canal Co., and is a two-story, temple form, Greek Revival style stone building. It features a pedimented front with Doric order fluted pillars. It was built as quarters for the canal custodian and canal company headquarters. It later housed a bank and was restored by Congressman Finly Hutchinson Gray and his wife, who resided there from 1936 to 1947. It later housed the local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and is now a local history museum.: 2 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Trinity Anglican Church is a Reformed Episcopal parish in Connersville, Indiana. The current congregation was established in 2021 in a 19th-century church building previously occupied by Trinity Episcopal Church, a former congregation of the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis.

Connersville station is an Amtrak station in Connersville, Indiana, served by the Cardinal. The original station was built in 1914 by the Cincinnati, Hamilton & Dayton Railroad and is adjacent to the currently-used shelter station.Amtrak train 51, the westbound Cardinal, is scheduled to depart Connersville at 3:05 a.m. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday with a service to Indianapolis, Crawfordsville, Lafayette, Rensselaer, Dyer and Chicago Union Station. Amtrak train 50, the eastbound Cardinal, is scheduled to depart Connersville at 1:26 a.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with a service to Cincinnati, Maysville, South Portsmouth, Ashland, Huntington, Charleston, Montgomery, Thurmond, Prince, Hinton, Alderson, White Sulphur Springs, Clifton Forge, Staunton, Charlottesville, Culpeper, Manassas, Alexandria and Washington, DC, and continuing on to New York City.

Connersville is a city in Fayette County, east central Indiana, United States, 66 miles (106 km) east by southeast of Indianapolis. The population was 13,481 at the 2010 census. The city is the county seat of and the largest and only incorporated town in Fayette County. The city is in the center of a large rural area of east central Indiana; the nearest significant city is Richmond, 26 miles (42 km) to the northeast by road. Connersville is home to the county's only high school. The local economy relies on manufacturing, retail, and healthcare to sustain itself. However, there has been a consistent decline in both employment and population since the 1960s, placing it among the least affluent areas in the state, as indicated by measures such as median household income and other economic indicators. The city is among the oldest cities in Indiana and the former Indiana Territory, having been established in 1813 by its namesake, John Conner.

Longwood Covered Bridge is a historic Burr Arch Truss covered bridge located at Connersville, Fayette County, Indiana. The bridge was built in 1884, and measures 97 feet long and 14 feet, 6 inches wide. It is topped by a gable roof and sheathed in wood shingles, wood board siding, and board and batten siding at the gable ends.: 2  It was moved in 1984 to Roberts Park in Connersville and situated over dry land. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 and delisted in 1989.

Roberts Park is a historic public park and national historic district located at Connersville, Fayette County, Indiana. The parkland was donated to the city of Connersville in 1902. The 80-acre, rectangular site includes the contributing stone wall lined drives, stone pillars with lamps, a sundial, the Pavilion (1903), Amphitheatre (1907-1909), Horse Track (1903), Judge's Stand (1903), Horse Barns (c. 1910), Liberty Building (1932), Police Building (c. 1940), James E. Roberts Memorial Building (1936), and the Roberts Park Pool (1936). A number of park improvements were made by the Works Progress Administration. Located in the park is the Longwood Covered Bridge, a non-contributing structure formerly listed on the National Register of Historic Places from 1981 to 1989.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
