Withrow is a neighborhood of Grant, Washington County, Minnesota, United States. It was formally absorbed into the city of Grant in 1996. Nearby places include the city of Hugo and May Township. The center of Withrow is generally considered at the intersection of Keystone Avenue North, Keats Avenue North, and 119th Street North. It was named for early settler Thomas Withrow. Withrow Elementary School, part of the Stillwater Area School District, I.S.D. #834, is located nearby.Local business establishments include Sal's Angus Grill, and the Withrow Ballroom and Event Center. Withrow is located eight miles northeast of White Bear Lake, and nine miles northwest of Stillwater.

Brown's Creek is a 9.7-mile-long (15.6 km) stream which originates about 5.5 miles northwest of the city of Stillwater and flows south for about half its length then east to its confluence with the St. Croix River just north of Stillwater in Washington County, Minnesota, United States. It is one of few creeks in the Minneapolis – Saint Paul "Twin Cities" metropolitan area that supports a fishable trout population.

The Gateway Trail Iron Bridge is a historic camelback truss bridge on the Gateway State Trail in Stillwater Township, Minnesota, United States. The bridge has stood in three locations in Minnesota. Its main span was built of wrought iron in 1873—before steel became the preferred material for metal bridges—and erected in Sauk Centre in Central Minnesota. Designated Bridge No. 5721, it was refurbished and moved in 1937 to rural Koochiching County in northern Minnesota, where it became known as the Silverdale Bridge. It was relocated to its present site in east-central Minnesota in 2011 and renamed Bridge No. 82524. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 for its state-level significance in engineering. It was nominated as a rare example of a wrought iron truss bridge with ornamental detailing.

The city's largest lake, Oneka Lake, is named for the Dakota word "onakan," which means "to strike or knock off," rice into a canoe. Just south is Rice Lake where Mdewakanton Dakota from Mendota gathered wild rice.

Mahtomedi ( MAH-toh-MEE-dy) is a city in Washington County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 7,676 at the 2010 census. Mahtomedi is considered to be a suburb of St. Paul, and is located between St. Paul and Stillwater.

Mahtomedi Senior High School is a four-year public high school located in Mahtomedi, Minnesota, United States. The school houses grades 9–12 with a total population of approximately 1,146 students. About 22% of this population are from surrounding districts due to open enrollment. The school colors are blue and gold, and the athletic teams are known as the Zephyrs. The district (district #0832) was created in 1870, and the original high school was built in 1930. In 1970 a new high school building was constructed several miles south east of the original building and this remains the current high school campus. Based on standardized test scores the State of Minnesota has awarded the school a five-star rating, the highest level that can be achieved. In 2006, Newsweek ranked the school #675 in its "List of the 1200 Top High Schools in America." The school has also made adequate yearly progress in compliance with No Child Left Behind standards. As of 2015 the school had a demographic of 91% Caucasian, 2% Black, 2% Asian, 2% Two or more races, 2% Hispanic or Latino, and 1% Native American. Finally, out of the total population, 9% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Mahtomedi competes in the Metro East Conference (formerly known as the Classic Suburban Conference), having joined that conference at its inception in 2001 soon after being a founding member of the Metro Alliance in 1997. Prior to 1997, Mahtomedi was a member of the Tri-Metro Conference. The school was awarded the title "Exemplary High Performing Schools" along with being a profiled 2015 National Blue Ribbon School.
