Weeki Wachee Preserve

Jenkins Creek Park is a 3-acre (12,000 m2) park that includes "natural freshwater springs, man-made canals, coastal marshes, uplands, and waterways leading to the Gulf of Mexico" as well as a boat launch for small boats or canoes, a fishing pier, grill, picnic tables, and restrooms. It is located in Hernando Beach in Hernando County, Florida, although Hernando County Parks Department gives the address as being in Spring Hill. Across the street is Linda Pedersen Park, a 135-acre (0.55 km2) park connected by an aluminum boardwalk to Jenkins Creek Park. It is used for fishing and has a forty-foot-high observation tower offering "a panoramic view of the marsh and look out over the Gulf of Mexico." It also includes a playground and is in an area frequented by manatees. The park has grills, picnic tables, a pavilion, swimming area, playground, community building, showers, and restrooms.

Dinosaur Wildlife was a tourist attraction and museum that was open from 1962 to 1998 off U.S. Route 19 in Spring Hill, Florida. A medium-sized building with a 60-foot (18 m) long hall filled with four rows of 28 display cases, as well as exhibits on the floor and walls, Dinosaur Wildlife presented a vast collection of taxidermy, particularly relating to Floridian insects and animals.

The Weeki Wachee River is a river in Hernando County, Florida, United States. It flows 12 miles (19 km) westwards from Weeki Wachee to the Gulf of Mexico at the Weeki Wachee estuary. The name is derived from the Seminole: uekiwv /oykéywa, wi:-/ "spring" and -uce /-oci/ "small", signifying either a small spring or an offshoot of a town named Spring. The river is best known for its spring, and the Weeki Wachee Springs attraction built on the premises. The spring is the surfacing point of an underground river, which is the deepest naturally occurring spring in the United States. It measures about 150 feet (46 m) wide and 250 feet (76 m) long, and daily water averages 150 million gallons (644 million liters). The water temperature is a steady 72–74 °F (22–23 °C) year-round.

Frank W. Springstead High School is a public Hernando County high school in Spring Hill, Florida. The school opened on December 1, 1975, and had its first graduation class in 1979. In 2014, Springstead High School was ranked as #929 which was based on their Advanced Placement test scores, graduation rate, and SAT and ACT scores. Springstead High School was chosen to become the only International Baccalaureate school in Hernando County. This program started in the 2008–2009 school year.

Weeki Wachee is an unincorporated community and former city located in Hernando County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census, the community has a total population of 16. The 12,000-acre (4,900 ha) Weeki Wachee Preserve and the Weeki Wachee Springs park are located in the area. The park includes water rides, animal shows, mermaid costume shows, and manatee watching. The communities of Weeki Wachee Gardens and Spring Hill are nearby.
