The Church of Saint Ignatius (Italian: Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio or Sant'Ignazio all'Olivella) is a Baroque church of Palermo. It is located in the ancient neighborhood of the Olivella, in the quarter of the Loggia, within the historic centre of Palermo.

The Oratory of Saint Catherine of Alexandria (Italian: Oratorio di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria) is a Baroque oratory located attached to the church of Sant'Ignazio all'Olivella, in the quarter of the Castellammare of Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy.This oratory was built in 1726 under the patronage of the Confraternity of Santa Caterina, and supposedly set on the site of the former family home of Santa Rosalia. The interior stucco decoration was completed by Giacomo Serpotta and his son Procopio. In the vestibule is a depiction of The Mystical Marriage of St Catherine by Giuseppe Salerno. Flanking the entrance are allegorical statues of Knowledge and Science, two areas of study which the Jesuits wished to stress. Along the wall are small stucco dioramas with episodes of the life of St Catherine. The main altarpiece depicts the Martyrdom of St Catherine (1609) also by Salerno. The church also has a Renaissance painting depicting the Madonna and Child by Vincenzo da Pavia. The stalls for the members of the confraternity are also engraved with episodes of the life of St Catherine. Since 1946, the oratory has hosted the Order of the Holy Sepulcher.

Sant'Eulalia dei Catalani is a deconsecrated church, whose Renaissance facade can still be seen on Via Argenteria #19, at the edge of the lively Vucciria market in ancient quarter of Castellammare in central Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. In a niche in the small piazza in front of the church is a statue of the Genius of Palermo, sculpted by Pietro di Bonitate in 1483, and now called Palermu lu Grandi.

The Palazzo delle Poste or Palazzo Postale is a monumental government building, executed in the stripped classicism architectural style of the 1920s, originally intended as the mail and telegraph center, located on Via Roma #320, in the quarter of Castellamare in Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. The modern building is bordered on the north by the church of the Sant'Ignazio all'Olivella and the adjacent Regional Archeologic Museum, while Piazza San Domenico is a few blocks to the south.

The Palazzo Branciforte is Renaissance-style aristocratic palace located on Via Bara dell'Olivella, in the historic center of Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. It underwent extensive refurbishment under the direction of the architect Gae Aulenti, and since completion of the work in 2012 has been the home of the Fondazione Sicilia, and houses a modern library, auditorium, and exhibition halls.

Santa Cita, reconsecrated in 1952 as San Mamiliano, is a baroque-style, Roman Catholic parish church located on Via Squarcialupo, 1, in the quarter of Castellammare of the city of Palermo, Sicily, Italy. The church and its artworks suffered heavily the bombardment during the Second World War, but it still contains original works and is attached to the Oratory of the Rosary of Santa Cita and less than a block north of the church of Santa Maria di Valverde.

The Colonna dell'Immacolata Concezione is a monumental sculpture, whose centerpiece is a bronze statue of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception atop a column, erected in 1631 on Piazza San Domenico in Palermo, Sicily. The monument, which stands in front of the church of San Domenico is also referred to as the Colonna di San Domenico or Monumento all'Immacolata. The 18th-century monument falls within the tradition for example, of the guglia or spire monuments common to Naples.

Piazza Verdi, commonly known as Piazza Massimo, is a square of Palermo. At its centre is the sumptuous Teatro Massimo, the biggest opera house of Italy, and the third of Europe after the Opéra National de Paris and the K. K. Hof-Opernhaus in Vienna. The square is located in the heart of the city, near the central Via Maqueda, in the quarter of the Seralcadio, within the historic centre of Palermo. Piazza Verdi was created in 19th century in order to host the new opera house of Palermo.

The Grand Hotel et des Palmes is a historic hotel in Palermo, Sicily, on the central Via Roma. The building was built on the initiative of the Ingham-Whitaker family in 1874 and used as a private residence. The house was connected by a secret passage to the adjacent Anglican church. Initially, the building consisted of a two-story low body with an exotic winter garden that reached the sea. At the end of the 19th century, the house was sold to the knight Enrico Ragusa, who in 1907 commissioned the transformation of Palazzo Ingham in the Grande Albergo delle Palme to the architect Ernesto Basile. It became a luxury hotel, symbol of the Belle Époque. In November 2018 it was acquired by Algebris for roughly €12 million.Notable people who have resided in the hotel include: Richard Wagner, the composer who in 1881 finished the composition of the Parsifal there; Raymond Roussel, the poet who lived there until his death; Charles Poletti, who for political and then military reasons for the duration of the conflict, turned it into a US headquarters during the Second World War; José Enrique Rodó, Uruguayan writer and essayist, who spent his last days there.

Piazza San Domenico is a square of Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy. It is located down Via Roma, in the quarter of La Loggia, within the historic centre of Palermo. The square derives its name from the Church of San Domenico, one of the famous city sights. In the past it was called "Piazza Imperiale" (Imperial Square), because its creation was decided by the Emperor Charles VI.The middle of the square is dominated by the Column of the Immaculate Conception, designed by Tommaso Napoli in 1724 and erected by Giovanni Biagio Amico in 1728. The former Dominican convent overlooking the square is the location of the Museo del Risorgimento. Moreover, the square represents an entrance of the La Vucciria, one of the historical markets of Palermo.
