The Albert-Eden Local Board is one of the 21 local boards of the Auckland Council, and is one of the two boards overseen by the council's Albert-Eden-Puketāpapa ward councillors. The Albert-Eden board, named after the two volcanic cones in the board area: Mount Albert and Mount Eden, covers the suburbs of Balmoral, Epsom, Greenlane, Kingsland, Morningside, Mount Albert, Mount Eden, Owairaka, Point Chevalier, Sandringham, and Waterview.The board is governed by eight board members elected from two subdivisions: four from the Owairaka subdivision (western half of the board area), and four from the Maungawhau subdivision (eastern half). The first board members were elected with the nationwide local elections on Saturday 9 October 2010; the local board's second election closed on 12 October 2013.

Kōwhai Intermediate School is a state co-educational intermediate school located in the suburb of Kingsland in Auckland, New Zealand. The school opened in October 1922, and was the first intermediate school in New Zealand.

Auckland City (Māori: Tāmaki-Makaurau) was a territorial authority with city status covering the central isthmus of the urban area of Auckland, New Zealand. It was governed by the Auckland City Council from 1989 to 2010, and as a territory within the wider Auckland Region, was also governed by Auckland Regional Council. Auckland City was disestablished as a local authority on 1 November 2010, when Auckland City Council was amalgamated with other councils of the Auckland Region into the new Auckland Council. At the time of its disestablishment, the city had a resident population of around 450,000.The Auckland City included the Auckland CBD – a major financial and commercial centre – the surrounding suburbs, and Hauraki Gulf islands such as Waiheke and Great Barrier Island.

Dominion Road Methodist Church is an early 20th century Methodist church located in Mount Eden, Auckland, New Zealand. It is listed as a Category 2 building by Heritage New Zealand.

Eden Park is New Zealand's largest sports stadium, with a capacity of 50,000. Located in central Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, it is three kilometres southwest of the CBD, on the boundary between the suburbs of Mount Eden and Kingsland. It opened in 1900. The south stand was rebuilt for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. The stadium is used primarily for rugby union in winter and cricket in summer, and it has hosted rugby league and association football matches. It is owned by Eden Park Trust Board, whose headquarters are located in the stadium. Eden Park is considered one of rugby union's most difficult assignments for visiting sides. New Zealand's national rugby union team, the All Blacks, have been unbeaten at this venue in 48 consecutive test matches stretching back to 1994. Eden Park is the site of the 2021 Te Matatini. It was the site for the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup, the final of the 2021 Women's Rugby World Cup and will stage the opening match of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. In 2011 it hosted pool games, two quarter-finals, both semi-finals and the final of 2011 Rugby World Cup. In doing so it became the first stadium in the world to host two Rugby World Cup Finals, having held the inaugural final in 1987. It was a venue for the 2015 Cricket World Cup, which was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Kingsland is an inner-city suburb of Auckland, the largest and most populous urban area in New Zealand. Kingsland is under the local governance of the Auckland Council. It is the home of Eden Park, New Zealand's largest stadium, which hosted the finals for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Kingsland has a village centre that contains a series of shops, restaurants, pubs and monthly markets. Kingsland was established in the 1880s with the sale of allotments; the buildings predominantly date from the Edwardian and the interwar periods.New North Road is the main thoroughfare in Kingsland, running northeast–southwest from the Auckland Central Business District (CBD), with the suburb running along the ridge line. Kingsland's main street is located on New North Road next to the Kingsland railway station and directly across from Eden Park.

The Church of St Alban the Martyr is a late 19th century Anglican Church located in Balmoral, Auckland, New Zealand listed as a Category 2 building by Heritage New Zealand.

Mt Eden Congregational Church, also known as St James Church, is a historic former church in Mount Eden, Auckland, New Zealand. Constructed in 1900 to a neo-classical design from Mitchell and Watt for a Congregational church it later renamed to St James Church following the 1969 union of Congregational churches with the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. In the 21st century the church fell into disrepair and as the church could not fund the repairs the building was sold, later being developed into residential apartments.

Auckland Boxing Association Stadium (also known as ABA Stadium) is a New Zealand venue for combat sports hosting over 150 events in boxing alone. ABA Stadium is also recognized for its grassroots of boxing. The earliest reported professional boxing event according to Boxrec was in June 1992 where Jimmy Thunder fought Craig Petersen for the Australian Title.

Balmoral School is a co-educational state primary and intermediate school in Balmoral in Auckland, New Zealand. It teaches students in year levels 1 to 8, however the year 1 to 6 classes of the primary school are separated from the year 7 and 8 classes of the intermediate school. Primary students wear mufti, whilst Intermediate students wear a uniform that consists of a red polo shirt and navy blue shorts. As of November 2018, the school had a population of 926 students.Balmoral School's vision is “To value diversity and to develop curious, confident and connected learners”.

Auckland Metropolitan College was a state coeducational alternative secondary school located in the suburb of Mount Eden in Auckland, New Zealand. It was closed in 2001 by the Minister of Education.

Balmoral (Māori: Pamorere) is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand that is bordered by Mount Eden, Epsom, Mount Roskill and Sandringham and is located approximately 5 km from the centre of Auckland. It was named around the turn of the 20th century and derives its name from Balmoral Castle, the Scottish country residence of the Royal family. Much of the housing in the area is from the 1920s and 1930s, often in the Californian Bungalow style. Balmoral was part of Mount Eden Borough Council which became a part of Auckland City in 1989. In November 2010, the area was included into the Albert-Eden-Roskill ward (now Albert-Eden-Puketāpapa ward) of the new Auckland Council. A distinctive feature is the numerous Asian restaurants that are located in the Balmoral shopping area and the surrounding Dominion Road intersection.
