Dow Academy was a historic school in Franconia, New Hampshire, United States. Founded in 1884, it served as the town's high school until 1958, after which its building, a Georgian Revival wood-frame building built in 1903, became a centerpiece of the Franconia College campus. The building was converted into condominium residences in 1983; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Franconia is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 1,083 at the 2020 census. Set in the White Mountains, Franconia is home to the northern half of Franconia Notch State Park. Parts of the White Mountain National Forest are in the eastern and southern portions of the town. The Ham Branch of the Gale River is a 12.2-mile-long (19.6 km) river in northwestern New Hampshire in the United States. Via the Gale River, it is a tributary of the Ammonoosuc River and part of the Connecticut River watershed. The Ham Branch rises in the town of Easton and flows north through a valley at the western base of the Kinsman Range of the White Mountains. The river collects such tributaries as Reel Brook, Slide Brook, and Coppermine Brook before joining the Gale River in the village of Franconia. New Hampshire Route 116 follows the Ham Branch for nearly its entire course.

Franconia College was a small experimental liberal arts college in Franconia, New Hampshire, United States. It opened in 1963 in Dow Academy and the site of the Forest Hills Hotel on Agassiz Road, and closed in 1978, after years of declining enrollment and increasing financial difficulties. A small, eclectic faculty provided a diverse education. Areas of studies included the fine arts, architecture, performing arts, languages, law, and business.

The Frost Place is a museum and nonprofit educational center for poetry located at Robert Frost's former home on Ridge Road in Franconia, New Hampshire, United States. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Lovett's by Lafayette Brook, or Lovett's Inn, is a historic farmstead and inn at 1474 Profile Road (New Hampshire Route 18) in Franconia, New Hampshire, United States. It is one of a few surviving early 20th century hostelries in the state, dating to a period when many large and more elaborate hotels stood that have succumbed to fire or demolition. It is located on the west side of Profile Road, in a rural area between the village center of Franconia and Cannon Mountain. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It continues to function as a small hotel with restaurant.

Franconia Airport (FAA LID: 1B5) is a public airport located in Franconia, New Hampshire, two miles (3 km) south of the central business district of Franconia, in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The airport is the home of the Franconia Soaring Association. There are no commercial flights available.

Felsengarten (German for "stone garden") is a historic summer house on Lewis Hill Road in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. The two story house was built between 1896 and 1900, and was the summer residence of German-American conductor Theodore Thomas and his wife Rose Fay. Thomas was an influential figure in popularizing classical orchestral music in the United States during the 19th century. The house and garden were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The 1970 NCAA Skiing Championships were contested at the Cannon Mountain Ski Area in Franconia, New Hampshire, at the seventeenth annual NCAA-sanctioned ski tournament to determine the individual and team national champions of men's collegiate alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and ski jumping in the United States.Denver, coached by Willy Schaeffler, captured their thirteenth national championship and ninth in ten years. Denver finished 7.8 points ahead of runners-up Dartmouth in the team standings, the second straight year the Pioneers bested the Big Green.
