Liniers

Estación Liniers is a railway station located in the Liniers barrio of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is on the FFCC Sarmiento line, between the stations of Ciudadela and Villa Luro.It was first authorised and named in 1872, taking its name in honour of Santiago Liniers. However, services did not commence until 1887.

Versalles (also Versailles) is a barrio (district) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is part of Commune 10 along with Villa Real, Monte Castro, Floresta, Velez Sarsfield and Villa Luro. Versalles is located on the western end of Buenos Aires; its boundaries are marked by the following streets: Nogoyá, Irigoyen, Juan B. Justo Avenue, and the General Paz Expressway.

Villa Luro is a barrio (district) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located near the western end of the City of Buenos Aires. The district owes its name to Dr. Pedro Luro, a prominent local physician and real-estate developer who, during the 1870s, sold most of his property in the area as residential lots. The neighborhood, which at the time was on the outskirts of the city, grew rapidly following the inaugural in 1911 of the Buenos Aires Western Railway's Villa Luro station (today a stop along the Sarmiento Line). The district's largest park, Plaza Ejército de los Andes, was opened in 1939. A defunct Western Railway line that divided the neighbourhood diagonally was converted into the Avenida del Justicialismo in 1951, and this avenue was in turn replaced by the Perito Moreno Expressway in 1980. Villa Luro is also accessible from downtown Buenos Aires (11 kilometres (7 mi) to the east) via Rivadavia Avenue, and the most of the high-rises in the largely low-density district were built along it. A more upscale section within the district, Villa Luro Hollywood, was later developed along Ramón Falcón Avenue one block south of Rivadavia Avenue. Notable neighbourhood institutions include the Church and Institute of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (1911), the Valle Miñor Social Club (1928), the Villa Luro Association of Plastic Arts (2000), and the Alejandro Olmos Cultural Center (2009).

Ciudadela is a city in Greater Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is located in the Tres de Febrero Partido, immediately to the west of the neighborhood of Liniers in Buenos Aires city proper. It is separated from the city by General Paz avenue.

The Avellaneda Park Historic Train (native name: Tren Histórico del Parque Avellaneda), colloquially known as "Expreso Alegría" ("Joy Express" in English) is a narrow gauge train that runs inside Avellaneda Park of Parque Avellaneda district, in the southwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Villa Real is a barrio (district) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located in the western part of the City of Buenos Aires.

Lomas del Mirador is a city of the La Matanza Partido in Greater Buenos Aires. Located outside Buenos Aires along the southwest edge of the General Paz Freeway, the city has a population of 51,488 (INDEC, 2001). The land where Lomas del Mirador is located was sold by Ezequiel Ramos Mexía to Pablo Pelluse in 1868. The ranch at the site was known as Terrenos del Mirador ("the lookout property") in reference to the estancia therein, Mirador Santa Lucía. A neighboring property was owned by the descendants of Governor Manuel Dorrego, a key figure in the Argentine Civil Wars of the 19th century, and the city shield would include a red lookout tower in reference to both the town's name and that family's allegiance to the Federalists during the civil wars. These properties were later sold, and in 1909, the first lots were parceled to investors and homesteaders. It would later be home to a diversified base of light industry, notably the former Jabón Federal ("Federal Soap") facility. The Provincial Legislature declared Lomas del Mirador a city in 1984.

Mataderos (Spanish for "slaughterhouses") is a barrio (neighbourhood) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is one of the three barrios that make up the Comuna 9, alongside Liniers and Parque Avellaneda. Located in the south-west end of the city, it takes its name from the livestock market and various slaughterhouses located within it.

The Devoto prison (Spanish: Cárcel de Devoto), officially named "Complejo Penitenciario Federal de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires" was built in 1927 as a medium-security prison and managed by the Policia Federal Argentina. In 1978 a prison riot broke out, referred to as the "Motín de los colchones", which ended with 60 deaths and 85 injuries.President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced in 2011 that the prison would be shut down and the prisoners transferred to a new complex in Mercedes, Buenos Aires. As of 2020, the Devoto prison remains fully operational with less than 8% of the inmates transferred to other prisons. Plans for the Mercedes complex were scrapped in 2018 and another in Marcos Paz, Buenos Aires announced instead.

Monte Castro is a western barrio (neighborhood) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, belonging to the 10th comuna (district). Its borders are: Alvarez Jonte Ave., Lope de Vega Ave., Juan Agustín García St., Joaquín V. González St., Baigorria St., and Irigoyen St. It is located in one of the highest zones in the city and is currently a middle-income neighborhood. However, at the end of 1930, many low-rent houses were built by the Compañía General de Construcciones, which have been rebuilt since. It is mainly a single-family neighborhood. Its name comes from an old owner of these lands, Pedro Fernández de Castro, who bought these in 1703. He died few days later, and his daughter Ana inherited these fields. Presently, the area is now referred to as Chacra de Castro (Castro's farm) or Montes de Castro (Castro's hills). The barrio's most important sports club is All Boys which was founded in 1913 in the nearby neighborhood of Floresta, later moving to Monte Castro in 1924. Festivity Day of the neighborhood is on May 14, commemorating the original land deed in 1703.

Barrio Ejército de los Andes, better known as Fuerte Apache, is a neighbourhood of Ciudadela near the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is known for its high crime rates and prevalent drug use.

Estadio Islas Malvinas is a football stadium in Floresta, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the home ground for All Boys. The stadium holds 12,199 spectators and opened in 1963.The stadium's name reflects Argentina's claims of sovereignty over the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas in Spanish). The stadium has been refurbished several times. The most important work was the construction of a second tier on the Mercedes street side. In August 2001, a new stand was opened with an Argentina national U-20 team match. The new stand was built behind the goal on the Miranda street side. In 2006 the stand made of wooden planks by Chivilcoy street was dismantled, and in September of that year they began construction of the new cement stand. The new stand, along with a new lighting system, were both inaugurated in February 2007. In 2008, the stadium had a major renovation that included the renovation of the press box, new luxury suites, and the restructuring of the entire second tier, which had been closed to the public for many years due to safety issues.
