Tapton Hall is a Grade II listed building situated on Shore Lane in the Crosspool area of Sheffield, England.

Thornbury Hospital is a private hospital situated on Fulwood Road in the Ranmoor area of the City of Sheffield, England. The hospital is owned by BMI Healthcare. The building was previously a private residence constructed in 1865.

Notre Dame Catholic High School in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, was established in the 1850s by the Sisters of Notre Dame, a religious order. It was, for many decades, a fee paying school. It currently has 1400 students, with a 1:17.3 Teacher: Student ratio.

The Tapton Hill transmitting station (grid reference SK324870), more generally known as the Sheffield (Crosspool) transmitting station, is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility which serves Sheffield in South Yorkshire and is located on a hill in the suburb of Crosspool to the west of the city. It transmits digital television (with vertical polarisation), analogue radio (FM) and DAB digital radio. It was a relay of Emley Moor for analogue television until the signals were turned off permanently following the Digital Switchover in August 2011. The site is owned by Arqiva and its aerials are at a height of 295 metres (968 ft) above mean sea level. It also feeds the Chesterfield Transmitter with its digital television signal by means of an underground fibre optic cable. The transmitter was originally an A group for television broadcasts, but to accommodate analogue Channel 5, as well as digital television, it became a wideband until its switchover in 2011. At that point, technically, it became a K group although wideband aerials would still work. The 3 main PSB MUXES are all receivable on an A group aerial (see graph). Sheffield transmitter's 700MHz clearance is due in Feb 2020 when none of the main 6 MUXEs are due to change frequency, though MUXES 7 and 8 are due to be switched off.

St John's Church, Ranmoor is a large parish church in Ranmoor, a suburb of the City of Sheffield, England. It is a Church of England church in the Diocese of Sheffield, and it is the second church to be built on this site after the original church was destroyed by fire in 1887. It has a 200-foot-tall (61 m) tower and spire, the tallest church spire in Sheffield.

Crookes Cemetery is a cemetery between Crosspool and Crookes in the city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Its main entrance is on Headland Road with additional access from Mulehouse Road. It was opened in 1906, and covers 29 acres (120,000 m2). By 2009, over 29,000 burials had taken place since its opening.A central alley runs through the cemetery and separates the consecrated grounds to the north and the unconsecrated grounds to the south.

Endcliffe Hall is a 19th-century, 36-room mansion situated on Endcliffe Vale Road in the City of Sheffield in the suburb of Endcliffe. The hall is situated just over 2 miles (3.2 km) west of the city centre and is a Grade II* Listed building. The present hall was built between the years of 1863 and 1865 by the Sheffield architects Flockton & Abbot for the Sheffield industrialist John Brown. Brown had acquired considerable wealth and prestige from the manufacture of armour plate from Bessemer steel at his Atlas Works in the city and wanted to build a private residence to reflect his position as one of the Nouveau riche industrialist of the Victorian Age. It is the largest private residence ever to have been built in Sheffield.

Riverdale House is a Victorian mansion located at 89 Graham Road in the Ranmoor area of Sheffield, England. Formerly a private residence, the building, which is Grade II Listed has now been adopted for commercial use and accommodates several small businesses.

Crosspool is a suburb of the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, located 2.5 miles (4 km) west of the city centre. The suburb falls within the Crookes ward of the City of Sheffield. It is a middle class residential area in an elevated position above the Porter and Rivelin valleys and stands at around 660 feet (200 m) above sea level. Crosspool is situated on the A57 road (Manchester Road) and is the last suburb on that road before the city boundary and open countryside is reached. In 2011 Crosspool had a population of 6,703.

Ranmoor (grid reference SK317862) is a suburb of the City of Sheffield, England. It is an affluent suburb in the Fulwood ward of the city. It mostly developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and it features a number of large houses that were built for the city's steel magnates, as well as, most notably, a large church, St John's. This church was opened 24 April 1879 but was almost entirely destroyed by fire on 2 January 1887. All that survived from the original church was the tower and spire, which still stands today. A new building was built and the church reopened on 9 September 1888; it is now a Grade II* listed building. A row of early 19th century buildings near the church includes the Bull's Head and Ranmoor Inn public houses. Other notable buildings in the Ranmoor area were built for some of the well known industrialists of Sheffield. The Grade II listed Oakbrook was built by Flockton, Lee & Flockton c.1855 for Mark Firth, a steel magnate and philanthropist who founded Firth College, one of the institutions that eventually merged to establish the University of Sheffield. Oakbrook is now part of the Notre Dame Roman Catholic School. Ranmoor Hall was built in 1881 for William Wheatcroft Harrison, a cutlery manufacturer. The Croft was built in 1909 for James Neill, the tool manufacturer. The Grade II* Endcliffe Hall was completed in 1865; it was built for Sir John Brown by Flockton & Abbott. Thornbury was built in 1865 for Frederick Mappin, it is now a private hospital. The Grade II listed Riverdale House on Graham Road was built around 1860 and was lived in by the industrialist Charles Henry Firth and the businessman John George Graves.

Hallam Towers is a fifteen-storey, 48 metres (157 ft) apartment building completed in 2022 in the Fulwood area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It was constructed on the site of an identical former hotel of the same name, which existed on the site between 1963 and 2017.

Tapton Mount School, formerly Sheffield School for Blind Children, formerly Sheffield School for the Blind was a school for the visually impaired situated at 20 Manchester Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. It opened in 1879 at a cost of £15,000. In the 1960s and 1970s, the headmaster Frederick Tooze pioneered the integration of students into local comprehensive schools. It closed in 1997 after the pupil roll fell to twelve.
