The Franklin Township School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade from Franklin Township, in Warren County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 201 students and 26.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 7.6:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Public school students in seventh through twelfth grades attend the schools of the Warren Hills Regional School District, which also serves students from the municipalities of Mansfield Township, Washington Borough, Washington Township and Oxford Township (for 9-12 only, attending on a tuition basis). Schools in the district (with 2018–19 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics) are Warren Hills Regional Middle School with 542 students in grades 7 and 8 (located in Washington Borough) and Warren Hills Regional High School with 1,205 students in grades 9 - 12 (located in Washington Township).

Pohatcong Creek (also called the Pohatcong River) is a 30.7-mile-long (49.4 km) tributary of the Delaware River in northwestern New Jersey in the United States. It rises in the mountains of eastern Warren County, west of Hackettstown. It flows southwest, in a valley along the northwestern side of the Pohatcong Mountain ridge, which separates its watershed from that of the Musconetcong River. It joins the Delaware in Pohatcong Township, approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers) south of Phillipsburg. The name Pohatcong is said to have thought of a Munsee phrase — pohwihtukwung, or "at the rippling or lapping river".

Warren County Technical School (WCTS) is a technical and vocational public high school located in Washington, which serves students in ninth through twelfth grades as well as adult learners from across Warren County, United States, as part of the Warren County Technical School District. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1996.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 440 students and 36.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.0:1. There were 71 students (16.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 16 (3.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.In addition to students in its full-time high school programs, the school also serves 150 adult students in the fields of Licensed Practical Nursing, Cosmetology, HVAC, Welding, and Black Seal Certification.

Franklin Township is a township in Warren County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 2,968, a decrease of 208 (−6.5%) from the 2010 census count of 3,176, which in turn reflected an increase of 408 (+14.7%) from the 2,768 counted in the 2000 census.Franklin was incorporated as a township by the New Jersey Legislature on April 8, 1839, from portions of Greenwich Township, Mansfield Township, and Oxford Township. The township is named for Benjamin Franklin.

Pohatcong Mountain is a ridge, approximately 6 mi (10 km) long, in the Appalachian Mountains of northwestern New Jersey in the United States. It extends from west Phillipsburg northeast approximately to Allamuchy Township, New Jersey. The ridge continues on north past Washington as Upper Pohatcong Mountain. It is located in eastern Warren County, and extends northeast of Washington approximately 6 mi (10 km) to the vicinity of Hackettstown. The ridge has an average height of approximately 800 ft (240 m) and reaches a maximum summit of 1235 ft (374 m).The term "Pohatcong Mountain" is sometimes taken to include both Pohatcong and Upper Pohatcong Mountain. The ridge is approximately 800 ft (244 m) high along much of its length. The mountain divides the watersheds of Pohatcong Creek on its northwestern flank and the Musconetcong River on its southeastern flank.

Brass Castle is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Washington Township, in Warren County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 1,555.Brass Castle is named for Jacob Brass, an early settler of the area.

Scotts Mountain is a mountain in Warren County, New Jersey. The mountain covers portions of Harmony, Lopatcong, Franklin and Washington Townships; the main summit rises to 1,086 feet (331 m), and is located in Harmony. It is part of the New York–New Jersey Highlands of the Appalachian Mountains, although somewhat isolated to the west of the main body of the Highlands.

Pleasant Valley is an unincorporated community located in Washington Township, Warren County, New Jersey, west of Washington, along the Pohatcong Creek. The hamlet was built around a mill on the creek during the mid-18th century. The Pleasant Valley Historic District, encompassing the village, is listed on the state and national registers of historic places.
