Ehrenfeld (German: Köln-Ehrenfeld [kœln ˈʔeːʁənfɛlt]; Kölsch: Ihrefäld [ˈi²ʁəfɛlt]) is a borough (Stadtbezirk) of the City of Cologne in Germany. It includes the seven quarters Bickendorf, Bocklemünd, Mengenich, Ehrenfeld, Neuehrenfeld, Ossendorf and Vogelsang. It has about 109,500 inhabitants (as of December 2020) and covers an area of 23.98 square kilometres. The district borders with the Cologne districts of Chorweiler to the North, Nippes and Innenstadt to the East and Lindenthal to the South-West. Ehrenfeld is characterized by lively and popular residential areas and shopping streets, the media center "Coloneum" with the most modern production and movie studios and a large and vivacious free cultural scene with many artists' studios, theatres and clubs. The landmark of Ehrenfeld is the Helios-lighthouse and the old factory of the perfume manufacturer 4711.

The Museum of East Asian Art (Museum für Ostasiatische Kunst Köln) opened in Cologne, Germany in 1913 and is the oldest of its kind in the country. The collection of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese art originates in that of its founders Adolf Fischer (de) (1856–1914) and his wife Frieda (de) (1874–1945). The new building by architect Kunio Maekawa, pupil of Le Corbusier, opened in 1977.

Aachener Straße/Gürtel is an interchange station on the Cologne Stadtbahn lines 1, 7, and 13 in the district of Lindenthal in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The station is located at the junction of Aachener Straße and the Cologne Belt (Gürtel). The station has four separate side platforms, each on one of the four median strips facing the junction.

Köln-Ehrenfeld is a railway station situated at Ehrenfeld, Cologne in western Germany on the Cologne–Aachen railway. It was opened with the first part of the line in 1839. It is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn and regional services. Not far from the station is the Venloer Straße/Gürtel underground station of the Cologne Stadtbahn.

The Helios AG für elektrisches Licht und Telegraphenanlagenbau was a German electrical engineering company. Founded in 1882, it existed until its liquidation in 1930. The company was based in the town of Ehrenfeld, which was incorporated into Cologne in 1888. The company is presently best known for the Heliosturm, a lighthouse on the former site of the factory that was constructed for test and research purposes. Today, the area is used by gastronomy and craft businesses.

Wüllnerstraße is a Cologne Stadtbahn station served by lines 7 and 13. Like the section from Barbarossaplatz to Ubierring the station is one where both high- and low-floor vehicles stop on the same platform. This station is located on Stadtwaldgürtel in Köln-Braunsfeld.

The University of Cologne (German: Universität zu Köln) is a university in Cologne, Germany. It was established in the year 1388 and is one of the most prestigious and research intensive university in Germany. It was the sixth university to be established in Central Europe. It closed in 1798 before being re-established in 1919. It is now one of the largest universities in Germany with more than 48,000 students. The University of Cologne was a university of excellence as part of the German Universities Excellence Initiative from 2012 to 2019.

Colonius is the Cologne telecommunications tower, which was finished in 1981. The Colonius possesses a cafeteria, viewing platform, and a restaurant, apart from antennas for radio relay and radio services within the VHF range. Because of a missing leaseholder, the visitor's area including restaurant and viewing platform has been closed since 1992. At the time of its completion the Colonius was 252.9 meters high. In 2004 a radio tower added by helicopter increased the height to 266 meters. This addition allowed the broadcast of digital television (DVB-T) from the tower in the Cologne/Bonn region.

The German National Library of Medicine (German: Deutsche Zentralbibliothek für Medizin), abbreviated ZB MED, is the national library of the Federal Republic of Germany for medicine, health sciences, nutrition, agriculture and the environment. It has two locations: Cologne and Bonn. The library is jointly financed by the Federal Ministry of Health and the 16 States of Germany. It is operated under the auspices of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The medical library was initially formed 1973 through the mergers of several much older institutions. Between 2001 and 2003 it was further expanded to include nutritional, environmental and agricultural sciences. As a result, today ZB MED is the world's largest specialist library in its five subjects and the largest medical library in Europe.

Köln West (Cologne West) station is located in the northwestern edge of the Innenstadt of Cologne in the district of Neustadt-Nord in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located on Venloer Straße (street). The station is a stop for regional services on the Cologne ring railway (part of the West Rhine Railway). It is also served by lines 3, 4 and 5 lines of the Cologne Stadtbahn, which run through the Hans-Böckler-Platz/Bf. West underground station. The surface station has two platform tracks on a 303-metre-long island platform and eight tracks without platforms, which are used by intensive freight traffic.
