Westover Manor

The Baldridge House is a historic three-story mansion in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S. It was built from 1910 to 1913 for Earl Baldridge, a cattleman and rancher who later became a banker, and his wife Florence. It was designed by Sanguinet & Staats. It was purchased by Paun Peters, the president of the Western Production Company, in 2007. It was listed for sale for $8 million in 2017.The house has been listed as a Texas Historic Landmark by the Texas Historical Commission since 1978. Its historic marker reads The Balridge House. This house was part of the original Chamberlain–Arlington Heights development of the 1890s. Earl and Florence Baldridge built this elegant residence in 1910–13. Designed by the architectural firm of Sanguinet & Staats, it was a showplace of the time. Massive limestone columns line the facade. Carved oak woodwork decorates the interior. The home was occupied for many years by W. C. Stonestreet, a prominent Fort Worth clothier. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark—1978.

The William J. Bryce House, known as Fairview, is located on 4900 Bryce Avenue in Fort Worth, in the U.S. state of Texas.William J. Bryce was born in Scotland in 1861. He immigrated to the United States, and in 1883 settled in Fort Worth. As a brickmason by training, he began working in the building trades in Fort Worth, and in 1907 established the Bryce Building Company. In 1925, he was elected to the city council; two years later, he was elected mayor, and held the office until his resignation in 1933, necessitated by his wife's failing health. Bryce died in 1944.Bryce built the Fairview house in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of Fort Worth in 1893, after a design by Fort Worth architectural firm Messer, Sanguinet, and Messer. Following the firm's dissolution in 1895, design partner Marshall Sanguinet established a new firm in partnership with engineer Carl Staats; at about this time, he achieved the status of "the city's preeminent architect".Fairview is a two-story masonry house that faces south on a large lot. Its design is a manifestation of the interest in French Renaissance architecture, particularly in chateaux, among late-19th-century American architects. The building is for the most part square in plan, with a steeply pitched slate hip roof and gabled dormers. A smaller wing extends to the rear, and a carriage house of similar design stands to the rear.The house was altered somewhat by its second owner, in the 1940s, but retained much of its original character. It was listed as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1983, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Westover Hills is a town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 682 at the 2010 census.In 2000, Westover Hills was the wealthiest location in Texas by per capita income and the 12th highest-income place in the United States. It has since been surpassed in Texas by both Piney Point Village and Barton Creek. It is still the wealthiest suburb of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Marshall R. Sanguinet House is located on 4729 Collinwood Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 7, 1983. Called the dean of Fort Worth architects, Marshall R. Sanguinet helped design over 20 houses in the Arlington Heights area. The house on Collinswood was built in 1894. A dining room was added in 1906. He lived in the house until his death in 1936. The Sanguinet family sold the house in 1952.

The Como neighborhood is a historically African-American neighborhood located on the west side of Fort Worth, Texas. Como was named after Como, Italy. One of its residents was a neighborhood activist Viola Pitts. The Como Lake was built in 1889. Originally the neighborhood was conceived as a resort. In the early 1900s Lillian Russell visited the resort and was impressed by it. The neighborhood newspaper, the Lake Como Weekly, was published under several titles between 1940 and 1986. In the 1960s through 1990s the community struggled to prosper. However, with the West side of Fort Worth's economic boom, significant infrastructure improvements by the City of Fort Worth, and the efforts of many, the Como neighborhood is making significant strides in becoming a prosperous home for African-Americans, Hispanics, as well as many others.

Arlington Heights High School (AHHS, Heights) is a secondary school located in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Fort Worth Independent School District. Its mascot is the Yellow Jacket and its colors are blue and gold. Arlington Heights High School serves western portions of Fort Worth including the Como, Arlington Heights, Ridglea, Meadows West, and Rivercrest neighborhoods, and the City of Westover Hills. As of 1996 some students were bussed in from the Butler subsidized housing in Downtown Fort Worth and some communities in southeast Fort Worth with racial and ethnic minority groups.Hollace Weiner of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram said in 1996 that the school was a "scholastically touted institution that draws students from private schools."

Arlington Heights is a neighborhood in Fort Worth, Texas. A Denver, Colorado-originating promoter named H. B. Chamberlain bought 2,000 acres (810 ha) of land from a Chicago financier named Tom Hurley and Robert McCart. He attempted to develop Arlington Heights, but a hotel he built, Ye Arlington Inn, burned in 1894 and he died in a bicycle accident in London. Arlington Heights was developed after the United States moved military personnel in the surrounding area in World War I.Joyce E. Williams, a sociologist who wrote Black Community Control: A Study of Transition in a Texas Ghetto, wrote that almost all of the Lake Como women worked in Arlington Heights. Those women referred to it as "Little California", a reference to a fantasy idea of the state of California.

Westworth Village is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,472 at the 2010 census.

The Buck Oaks Farm is a historic place founded in 1932 located in Westworth Village, Texas. The house had Colonial Revival styling. It was designed by Earl T. Glasgow, an architect who also designed the Jermyn School and schools in the Fort Worth area.The house on the property incorporated portions of an older log cabin which was moved, perhaps the c.1870 original cabin built by Elijah Farmer.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 6, 1987. It was removed from the National Register on May 28, 2004. Structures may be removed from the National Register if they have been demolished or otherwise suffered loss of historic integrity. The house was used for military housing after the property was absorbed into the Carswell Air Force Base in 1954.

Ridgmar Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Fort Worth, Texas. It opened in 1976 at 1888 Green Oaks Road and Interstate 30. It is owned by GK Development, Inc., includes four anchor stores: Dillard's Clearance Center, JCPenney, Rave Cinemas and Right Move Storage with two vacant anchors last occupied by Sears, and Neiman Marcus. It was recognized as the main shopping destination in Fort Worth, also serving other rural areas within proximity to Fort Worth.
