Burnt Oak Brook

Watling Park is a public park in Burnt Oak in the London Borough of Barnet. It is one of Barnet's sixteen premier parks.It is a hilly open area with mown grassland, a children's playground, a football pitch, a basketball pitch and a small rose garden. Burnt Oak Brook, a tributary of the Silk Stream, runs through the park. There are more natural areas of undergrowth at the borders of the park and along the banks of the brook. The park is in the Watling Estate, a London County Council housing estate built in the 1920s and named after the nearby Roman road. It opened in 1931. The area was formerly farmland, and oak trees on the hill are survivors of its rural past.The main entrance is at the corner of Watling Avenue and Orange Hill Road, and there is also access from Fortescue Road, Chessingham Road, Abbots Road and Colchester Road.

Burnt Oak is a London Underground station in Burnt Oak, north London, on Watling Avenue, off the A5 (the Edgware Road, originally a Roman Road known as Watling Street). The station is on the Edgware branch of the Northern line, between Edgware and Colindale stations, and in Travelcard Zone 4.

The John Keble Church is a Church of England parish church in Mill Hill, London Borough of Barnet. The church was completed in 1936 and is of a modernist design. It is the only church dedicated to John Keble, one of the leaders of the Oxford Movement. It is a Grade II listed building.

Mill Hill Old Railway Nature Reserve is a 2.3-hectare (5.7-acre) Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II, in Mill Hill in the London Borough of Barnet. The reserve follows the route of the Highgate to Edgware line, closed in 1964, of the Edgware, Highgate and London Railway, between Deans Lane and Bunns Lane. Most of it, between Deans Lane and a short footpath from The Meads, is a closed site owned by the London Borough of Barnet and formerly managed by the London Wildlife Trust, although as of April 2021 it is no longer listed on their website. It is open from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The remaining stretch to Bunns Lane borders Lyndhurst Park. This is not managed and is very overgrown. The reserve is wooded, with some areas of rough pasture and herbs, and is an important habitat for slowworms. The grassland has a variety of wild flowers including burnet saxifrage and the rare great burnet.The mosaic of gardens backing onto the reserve provides a good habitat for suburban birds, including sparrowhawk, green and great spotted woodpeckers, long-tailed tit, chiffchaff and blackcap. Butterflies, moths and other invertebrates such as orange-tip, small copper and hoverflies are common.

Burnt Oak is a suburb of London, England, located 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Charing Cross. It lies to the west of the M1 motorway between Edgware and Colindale, located predominantly in the London Borough of Barnet, with parts comprising the London Boroughs of Brent and Harrow. It was part of Middlesex until it was transferred to Greater London in 1965.

Deans Brook is a two-kilometre-long stream which runs between Mill Hill and Edgware in the London Borough of Barnet. It is a tributary of the Silk Stream, which is a tributary of the River Brent, which is a tributary of the River Thames. The brook rises on Mill Hill Golf Course, where it is dammed to form a large pond called Stoneywood Lake. It goes through a culvert under the M1 motorway to Stoneyfields Park, where it is again dammed to form an ornamental lake. It then passes through suburban Edgware, where it combines with the Edgware Brook to become the Silk Stream near Edgware Hospital.The stream largely follows its natural course, but most of the banks are restrained by wooden boards, and there is little aquatic vegetation. Kingfishers and grey wagtails are regularly seen along the brook. A tributary, Edgwarebury Brook, joins it behind Brook Avenue. The only part of the brook which is accessible to the public is in Stoneyfields Park. Deans Brook, Stoneyfields Park, allotments to the east of Edgware Hospital, and wetland south of Edgware Underground station sidings together form a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II.

The Hale is an area and ward within the London Borough of Barnet. It is situated where the eastern part of Edgware meets the western part of Mill Hill and centres on the small retail centre at the junction of Deans Lane, Hale Lane and Selvage Lane. This centre constitutes Upper Hale, but is much better known locally as the 'Green Man' after the erstwhile pub of the same name that stood at the site from at least the early 18th century. A smaller area that was traditionally known as Lower Hale centres on the junction of Hale Lane, Farm Road and the nearby bridge over Deans Brook; this latter area is generally regarded as being within Edgware. The traditional area known as The Hale extends northwards from the 'Green Man' to the A41 and Apex Corner and the southern end is traditionally marked by the disused Edgware and Highgate railway line just south of West Way and Hale Drive; beyond lies Burnt Oak. Today's borough ward has slightly larger boundaries.

Edgware Bus Station serves the Edgware suburb of the London Borough of Barnet, Greater London, England. The station is owned and maintained by Transport for London. The bus station is off Station Road, situated a short distance away from Edgware Station and the Broadwalk Shopping Centre. There are five stands within the bus station. The main operators at the bus station are Metroline, Arriva Shires & Essex, Arriva London and London Sovereign Buses go from Edgware bus station as far afield Watford, Borehamwood, Hatfield, New Barnet, Arnos Grove, Wood Green, Marylebone in Central London, Kilburn, Alperton, Sudbury and Harrow. In August 2009, writer Tanya Gold attempted to be the writer in residence at the bus station emulating Alain de Botton who had a similar position at Heathrow Airport

Mill Hill (The Hale) railway station was a station in Mill Hill in north London, on the now-removed railway between Mill Hill East station and Edgware railway station. It was located near the junction of Bunns Lane and Lyndhurst Avenue.

Mill Hill Broadway railway station is on the Midland Main Line in England, serving the suburb of Mill Hill in the London Borough of Barnet, north London. It is 9 miles 28 chains (15.0 km) down the line from St Pancras and is situated between Hendon to the south and Elstree & Borehamwood to the north. Its three-letter station code is MIL. The station is served by Thameslink-operated trains on the Thameslink route. It is in Transport for London's Travelcard Zone 4.

Edgware Station is a London Underground station in Edgware, in the London Borough of Barnet, in North London. The station is the northern terminus of the Edgware branch of the Northern line and the next station to the south is Burnt Oak. Edgware is in Travelcard Zone 5.

Oriental City was a major shopping centre in Colindale, North London, England, originally built as a luxury Japanese shopping centre called Yaohan Plaza by the Yaohan retail company of Japan. After Yaohan filed for bankruptcy in the late 1990s, the centre became a lower-end mall specialising in various oriental foods and items, while also containing health and social services for the East Asian community. Opening in 1993, the 141,000 sq ft complex was located on Edgware Road with a dedicated car park and two floors.Referred to as London's "real Chinatown", Oriental City received about 10,000 visitors weekly as of 2006. The complex was closed for redevelopment on 1 June 2008 and, after several changes of ownership, was demolished in August 2014. In July 2017 the smaller Bang Bang Oriental Food Hall opened on the site, comprising 32 food kiosks, massage and beauty therapy suites as well as shops and a cultural centre.
