Toompea (from German: Domberg, "Cathedral Hill") is a limestone hill in the central part of the city of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The hill is an oblong tableland, which measures about 400 by 250 metres, has an area of 7 hectares (17 acres) and is about 20–30 metres higher than the surrounding areas. In folklore the hill is known as the tumulus mound over the grave of Kalev, erected in his memory by his grieving wife. The history of Toompea is closely linked to the history of rulers and power in Estonia. Today Toompea is the center of the Government of Estonia and the Riigikogu (parliament), both of which are often simply referred to as Toompea. The location of the Riigikogu is the Toompea Castle, situated in the southwestern corner of the hill and topped by the Tall Hermann tower. The flag on the top of the tower is one of the best-known symbols in Estonia of the government in force.Toompea is part of the Tallinn Old Town UNESCO World Heritage Site.

St. Mary's Cathedral, Tallinn (Estonian: Toomkirik, full name: Tallinna Neitsi Maarja Piiskoplik Toomkirik, German: Ritter- und Domkirche, English: The Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin in Tallinn, also known as Dome Church) is a cathedral church located on Toompea Hill in Tallinn, Estonia. Originally established by Danes in the 13th century, it is the oldest church in Tallinn and mainland Estonia. It is also the only building in Toompea which survived a 17th-century fire.Originally a Roman Catholic cathedral, it became Lutheran in 1561 and now belongs to the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Tallinn, the spiritual leader of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church, and chairman of that church's governing synod.

Founded in 1938, the Estonian Academy of Sciences (Estonian: Eesti Teaduste Akadeemia) is Estonia's national academy of science in Tallinn. As with other national academies, it is an independent group of well-known scientists whose stated aim is to promote research and development, encourage international scientific cooperation, and disseminate knowledge to the public. As of March 2017, it had 77 full members and 20 foreign members. Since 15 October 2014, the president of the Academy is the mathematician Tarmo Soomere.

The Kirov Collective Fishing Farm (Estonian: S. Kirovi nimeline näidiskalurikolhoos, Russian: Опорно-показательный рыболовецкий колхоз имени С. М. Кирова) was a collective farm (kolkhoz) dedicated to fishing activity in Haabneeme, Harju County, Estonia.

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (Estonian: Aleksander Nevski katedraal, Russian: Александро-Невский собор (Таллинн)) is an orthodox cathedral in the Tallinn Old Town, Estonia. It was built to a design by Mikhail Preobrazhensky in a typical Russian Revival style between 1894 and 1900, during the period when the country was part of the Russian Empire. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is Tallinn's largest and grandest orthodox cupola cathedral. It is dedicated to Saint Alexander Nevsky who in 1242 won the Battle of the Ice on Lake Peipus, in the territorial waters of present-day Estonia. The late Russian patriarch, Alexis II, started his priestly ministry in the church. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral crowns the hill of Toompea which is one of several places where according to legend the Estonian folk hero Kalevipoeg's father Kalev is said to have been buried. As the USSR was officially non-religious, many churches including this cathedral were left to decline. The church has been meticulously restored since Estonia regained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

Stenbock House (Estonian: Stenbocki maja) is a prominent neo-classical building located on Toompea hill, Tallinn. It is the official seat of the Government of Estonia.

Kesknädal (Estonian for 'Midweek') is a weekly newspaper issued every Wednesday. The paper was started in 1999. It is the organ of the Centre Party, a left-leaning Estonian party.The paper has been criticized for hiring notable Soviet-era journalists such as Ralf R. Parve, and sometimes accused of harbouring Soviet-like journalistic culture.

The Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (EOC-MP; Estonian: Moskva Patriarhaadi Eesti Õigeusu Kirik; Russian: Эстонская православная церковь Московского патриархата) is a semi-autonomous church in the canonical jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Moscow whose primate is appointed by the Holy Synod of the latter. This church numbers roughly 150,000 faithful in 31 congregations and is the largest Eastern Orthodox church in Estonia. The primate of the church was Cornelius (Jakobs), Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia, from 1992 to his death in 2018. Since 2018 the head of this church is Metropolitan Eugene (Reshetnikov). Under Estonian law, the "Estonian Apostolic Orthodox Church" (Eesti Apostlik-Õigeusu Kirik) is the legal successor to the pre-World War II Estonian Orthodox Church, which in 1940 had had over 210,000 faithful, three bishops, 156 parishes, 131 priests, 19 deacons, two monasteries, and a theological seminary, the majority of the faithful were ethnic Estonians. Its primate is confirmed by the Orthodox Church of Constantinople. This church numbers about 20,000 faithful in 60 congregations today.The reactivation of the autonomous Estonian Orthodox Church caused the Russian Orthodox Church to sever full communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople in 1996 for several months.

Danish King's Garden (Estonian: Taani kuninga aed) is a park in Tallinn Old Town, Estonia. The park is the place where the flag of Denmark, Dannebrog, according to tradition, is said to have been born. Every year on 15 June, Dannebrog or the Day of the Danish Flag is celebrated in the garden.The park's name derives from the Danish reign, which lasted in Tallinn and northern Estonia for over a hundred years mainly during the 13th century.

Tallinn Ballet School (Estonian: Tallinna Balletikool) is ballet school in Tallinn, Estonia. It is the only educational institution for professional ballet dancers in Estonia. The head teacher of school is Kaie Kõrb.The school was established in 1946.As of 2020, there are studying about 100 dancers.Studying period lasts 8 years.

The Battle of Lyndanisse (also spelled the Battle of Lindanise) was a battle during the Livonian Crusade, fought between the Kingdom of Denmark with various German allies and pagan Estonian tribes. The battle helped King Valdemar II of Denmark establish the territory of Danish Estonia during the Northern Crusades, which were undertaken in response to calls from the Pope. The Danes defeated the Estonians at Lindanise (Danish: Lyndanisse, at the site of the later city of Reval, now known as Tallinn).Today, the Battle of Lyndanisse is perhaps best known for a legend that the Danish flag, the Dannebrog, fell from the sky just as the Danes were about to lose the battle.

Tallinn Cathedral School (also Tallinn Knight and Cathedral School; Estonian: Tallinna Toomkool, German: Ritter- und Domschule zu Reval, Latin: Schola cathedralis Tallinnensis) is a school in Tallinn, Estonia.First written records of the school date back to 1319. In 1684, the school was destroyed in the large fire in the Toompea area. The construction of a new school building was completed seven years larter, in 1691. Since 1765, the school was managed by Estonian Knighthood. The construction of the building at Toom-Kooli Street 11 where the school located nowadays, was completed in 1845. In 1892, the school was closed due to Russification. In 1906, the school was re-opened. In 1920, Estonian Knighthood was liquidated and the school was managed by the successor organization of knighthood (Estonian: Eestimaa Üldkasulik Ühing). School was closed during World War II in the context of Baltic German Umsiedlung.Since 1965, the school building is used by Tallinn Ballet School.
