Hazlet station

The Vecchi Ketchup Factory in Hazlet, New Jersey produced ketchup from the early 20th century until around 1960. The factory operated in the early 20th century. Farmers from the area brought their tomatoes to be unloaded from horse-drawn carriages at the factory to make tomato paste, ketchup and canned tomatoes. Apple butter and cider, were made in the fall, although the factory was primarily known as a ketchup factory.The factory later became a foundry where brass castings were produced before closing around 1960. A fire destroyed much of the abandoned factory in 1963 except for the chimney, which remained until it was demolished for the Hazlet station parking project. After the chimney's demolition in 2002, bricks from the chimney were sold for $10 each to benefit the township's proposed 9/11 memorial.

Its services include cardiac catheterization, diagnostic Imaging, medical/surgical, behavioral health, emergency, laboratory and transitional care. Bayshore Medical Center merged with Hackensack Meridian Health in 2019 and is affiliated with the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. In 2021 it was given a grade A by the Leapfrog patient safety organization.

Keyport High School is a four-year public high school in Keyport, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades, operated as the lone secondary school of the Keyport Public Schools. Students from Union Beach attend the high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Union Beach School System. The existing three-story building was constructed in 1927.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 346 students and 35.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.7:1. There were 133 students (38.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 15 (4.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Keyport is a borough in northern Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. A waterfront community located on the Raritan Bay in the Raritan Valley region, the borough is a commuter town of New York City in the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 7,204, a decrease of 36 (−0.5%) from the 2010 census count of 7,240, which in turn reflected reflected a decline of 328 (−4.3%) from the 7,568 counted in the 2000 census. Keyport's nickname is the "Pearl of the Bayshore" or the "Gateway to the Bayshore".Keyport was originally formed as a Town on March 17, 1870, from portions of Raritan Township (now Hazlet). On April 2, 1908, the Borough of Keyport was formed, replacing Keyport Town.Keyport was part of the Bayshore Regional Strategic Plan, an effort by nine municipalities in northern Monmouth County to reinvigorate the area's economy by emphasizing the traditional downtowns, dense residential neighborhoods, maritime history, and the natural Raritan Bayshore coastline. Loew's Route 35 Drive-In was a drive-in theater on Route 35 in Hazlet, New Jersey. Opened in June 1956, its first movie was The Searchers, starring John Wayne, and Magnificent Roughnecks, starring Jack Carson. It operated for 35 years until an economic boom along the corridor and a turn towards enclosed movie theaters resulted in its closure in September 1991. The site became a Costco warehouse store and an enclosed movie theater.

St. John Vianney High School is a private coeducational Roman Catholic four-year high school, serving students in grades nine through twelve. Hazlet is a township in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The township is located near the Raritan Bay within the Raritan Valley region. It is located in the New York Metropolitan Area and is a bedroom community of New York City. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 20,125, a decrease of 209 (−1.0%) from the 2010 census count of 20,334, which in turn reflected a decline of 1,044 (−4.9%) from the 21,378 counted in the 2000 census.

Crawford Hill is located in Holmdel Township, New Jersey, United States. It is Monmouth County's highest point, as well as the highest point in New Jersey's coastal plain, standing at least 380 feet (116 m) above sea level. The hill is best known as the site of an annex to the Bell Labs Holmdel Complex. Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson of Bell Labs used the Holmdel Horn Antenna located on Crawford Hill to take measurements of the cosmic microwave background radiation. They were awarded the 1978 Nobel Prize in Physics for these efforts that supported the Big Bang theory. For more information, see Discovery of cosmic microwave background radiation. More recently the laboratory has undertaken research in the fields of wireless and fiber-optic communication and award-winning Bell Laboratories researchers in these fields, working at Crawford Hill include Herwig Kogelnik and Gerard Foschini. Herwig Kogelnik won the 2001 Marconi International Fellowship Award and IEEE Medal of Honor for his work in the development of fiber optic technology and the 2006 National Medal of Technology. Gerard J. Foschini was the 2002 recipient of the Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award for his pioneering inventions having to do with the capacity of communications systems with multiple antennas. In 2020, Nokia sold the Crawford Hill facility and relocated the remaining Bell Labs research staff to the Murray Hill campus.

The Holmdel Horn Antenna is a large microwave horn antenna that was used as a satellite communication antenna and radio telescope during the 1960s at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Holmdel Township, New Jersey, United States. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989 because of its association with the research work of two radio astronomers, Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson. In 1965 while using this antenna, Penzias and Wilson discovered the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR) that permeates the universe. This was one of the most important discoveries in physical cosmology since Edwin Hubble demonstrated in the 1920s that the universe was expanding. It provided the evidence that confirmed George Gamow's and Georges Lemaître's "Big Bang" theory of the creation of the universe. This helped change the science of cosmology, the study of the history of the universe, from a field for unlimited theoretical speculation into a discipline of direct observation. In 1978 Penzias and Wilson received the Nobel Prize for Physics for their discovery.

Mohingson Creek is a tributary of Matawan Creek in Monmouth County, New Jersey in the United States. Originating in the Mount Pleasant Hills, Mohingson Creek flows north through Holmdel and Aberdeen Townships into Matawan Creek. The name is sometimes shortened to Whingson or Winkson.
