Hazlet is a township in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The township is located near the Raritan Bay within the Raritan Valley region. It is located in the New York Metropolitan Area and is a bedroom community of New York City. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 20,125, a decrease of 209 (−1.0%) from the 2010 census count of 20,334, which in turn reflected a decline of 1,044 (−4.9%) from the 21,378 counted in the 2000 census.

Raritan High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from Hazlet Township in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Hazlet Township Public Schools. The school was named after the former community name, Raritan Township, and opened in September 1962 with an enrollment of 778 students, increasing to over 2,300 students by 1979. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 879 students and 71.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.3:1. There were 106 students (12.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 31 (3.5% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Raritan High School is accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education and has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 2013. The school offers students a comprehensive program of education ranging from an academically oriented, college preparatory curriculum to courses in the vocational and career oriented field. In May 2010, the Hazlet Township Board of Education embarked on a trial of "Going green to save green" by agreeing to enter into a power purchase agreement with a third-party vendor. Under this agreement, solar panels are to be erected on awnings over the student parking lot at Raritan High School and on the rooftop of Hazlet Middle School. The $7.5 million project will be funded by the vendor to cover the costs of construction and maintenance in their entirety and in return the Hazlet school district has contractually agreed to purchase the electricity at a below market cost. The district expects to save $1.7 million in energy costs over the next 15 years.

The Vecchi Ketchup Factory in Hazlet, New Jersey produced ketchup from the early 20th century until around 1960. The factory operated in the early 20th century. Farmers from the area brought their tomatoes to be unloaded from horse-drawn carriages at the factory to make tomato paste, ketchup and canned tomatoes. Apple butter and cider, were made in the fall, although the factory was primarily known as a ketchup factory.The factory later became a foundry where brass castings were produced before closing around 1960. A fire destroyed much of the abandoned factory in 1963 except for the chimney, which remained until it was demolished for the Hazlet station parking project. After the chimney's demolition in 2002, bricks from the chimney were sold for $10 each to benefit the township's proposed 9/11 memorial.

Hazlet is a station on New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line in Hazlet, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The station is located between a stretch of tracks from Keyport–Holmdel Road (Monmouth County Route 4) to Hazlet Avenue.

Bayshore Medical Center, formerly known as Bayshore Community Hospital, is a 204-bed general medical and surgical hospital located on a 37-acre (15 ha) campus at 727 North Beers Street, in Holmdel Township, New Jersey, United States, near the Raritan Bayshore. Its services include cardiac catheterization, diagnostic Imaging, medical/surgical, behavioral health, emergency, laboratory and transitional care. Bayshore Medical Center merged with Hackensack Meridian Health in 2019 and is affiliated with the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. In 2021 it was given a grade A by the Leapfrog patient safety organization.

New School High School of Monmouth County (NSHS) was a high school in the Monmouth County area of New Jersey that opened in 1998, notable for its style of alternative education until its closure in 2004. The New School of Monmouth County High School Founded by former public school teacher Dale Thompson and the daughter of one of the founders of the original New School elementary school, Rebekah Chilvers, the New School High School marked a radical departure from traditional educational philosophy. The New School tenets were drawn from a variety of British alternative teaching practice known as "open-classroom." Rather than relying on tests and grades to measure student progress, the New School High School or NSHS abolished these practices and instead centered on individualized learning centered on all-encompassing yearly themes. Work completed during the course of the year was collected in a portfolio, which served as an alternative method of measuring student's achievements (rather than using grades). The NSHS also had rather lax policies, compared to traditional public schools, in such areas as scheduling, dress codes, etc. However, the NSHS never grew to a particularly large size. After a peak in enrollment in the 2001–2002 school year, the size of the student body began declining. The replacement of Dale's Thompson's co-teacher twice also caused some difficulty for the school. In 2003, the NSHS's name was changed to the Atlantic School. The Atlantic School was short lived. In June 2004, the last graduates were promoted and the school itself shut down.

The PNC Bank Arts Center (originally the Garden State Arts Center) is an amphitheatre in Holmdel, New Jersey. About 17,500 people can occupy the venue; there are 7,000 seats and the grass area can hold about 10,500 people. Concerts are from May through September featuring 45-50 different events of many types of musical styles. It is ranked among the top five most successful amphitheatres in the country. It is one of two major outdoor arenas in the New York City Metropolitan Area, along with Jones Beach Theater on Long Island. Both venues are managed by Live Nation.

Union Beach is a borough on the Jersey Shore of Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 5,723, a decrease of 522 (−8.4%) from the 2010 census count of 6,245, which in turn reflected a decline of 404 (−6.1%) from the 6,649 counted in the 2000 census.Union Beach was formed as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 16, 1925, from portions of Raritan Township (now Hazlet), based on the results of a referendum held on April 16, 1925. A 100-acre (40 ha) farm in the future borough was owned by the Poole family since the days of the American Revolutionary War. Following the development of the Central Railroad of New Jersey, the Poole Farm became the site of the Union Subdivision in 1908, while an area that had been called East Point Beach Estates was renamed Union Beach by developer Charles Carr in 1920.Union Beach was part of the Bayshore Regional Strategic Plan, an effort by nine municipalities in northern Monmouth County to reinvigorate the area's economy by emphasizing the traditional downtowns, dense residential neighborhoods, maritime history, and the natural beauty of the Raritan Bayshore coastline. Keyport High School is a four-year public high school in Keyport, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades, operated as the lone secondary school of the Keyport Public Schools. Students from Union Beach attend the high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Union Beach School System. The existing three-story building was constructed in 1927.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 346 students and 35.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.7:1. There were 133 students (38.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 15 (4.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
