Townshend Dam

Scott Covered Bridge is a covered bridge spanning the West River in Townshend, Vermont. Built in 1870, it is at 277 feet (84 m) one of the longest covered bridges in the state (the West Dummerston Covered Bridge is longer), exhibiting three different forms of support: a Town lattice truss, kingpost trusses, and laminated arches. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is closed to all traffic.

The Follett Stone Arch Bridge Historic District encompasses a group of four stone arch bridges in southwestern Townshend, Vermont. All four bridges were built by James Otis Follett, a local self-taught mason, between 1894 and 1910, and represent the single greatest concentration of surviving bridges he built. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Townshend State Park is a state park in Townshend, Vermont. Embedded within Townshend State Forest, the park provides a camping facility and hiking trails for accessing Bald Mountain. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 199, compared to 1,291 in the entire town. The CDP is in north-central Windham County, in the south-central part of the town of Townshend. It sits in an elevated valley to the east of the West River, a southeast-flowing tributary of the Connecticut River. Mill Brook, a tributary of the West River, forms the eastern edge of the community. The community of Harmonyville borders the Townshend CDP to the south. Vermont Route 30 passes through the village, leading south 5 miles (8 km) to Newfane and northwest 9 miles (14 km) to Jamaica. Vermont Route 35 has its southern terminus at Route 30 in Townshend; it leads north 14 miles (23 km) to Grafton.

Harmonyville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Townshend, Windham County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 92.The CDP is in north-central Windham County, in the southern part of the town of Townshend. It is bordered to the north by the village of Townshend. It sits in the valley of the West River, where it is joined from the northeast by Mill Brook. The West River is a southeast-flowing tributary of the Connecticut River. Vermont Route 30 passes through the community, leading southeast 16 miles (26 km) to Brattleboro and northwest through Townshend village 30 miles (48 km) to Manchester Center.

The Wheelock House is a historic house at 1096 Vermont Route 30 in Townshend, Vermont. Built in stages in the mid-19th century, it exhibits an unusual combination of Greek Revival and southern Gothic Revival features that is not otherwise known in Vermont. It is also possible that parts of the house were built using slave labor, an extremely rare occurrence in the state. The property, which now houses an art gallery, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
