Hockerill Anglo-European College (formerly known as Hockerill School) is an international state boarding school with academy status located in Bishop's Stortford, England.

The Hertfordshire and Essex High School and since 2004 named as The Hertfordshire & Essex High School and Science College, commonly referred to as Herts and Essex, is a secondary level comprehensive single-sex school with a mixed-sex sixth form in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England.

Hockerill Halt railway station was a station serving the Hockerill area of Bishop's Stortford in East Hertfordshire in England. The station was 1 mile 29 chains (2.19 km) from Bishop's Stortford on the Bishop's Stortford to Braintree branch line (Engineer's Line Reference BSB). Services began on 7 November 1910 and ended on 3 March 1952. The station along with almost all the intermediate stations on the Bishop's Stortford-Braintree branch were little used. The station was built to serve the Bishop's Stortford Golf Club but it was also open to the public. It closed to passengers along with the rest of the branch.The halt consisted of a low platform of made up ground, with telephone access to the signalman at Bishops Stortford. It was partially restored in 2012 by the Friends of the Flitch Way - however this was not evident when visited in 2019.

Bishop's Stortford railway station is on the West Anglia Main Line serving the town of Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire, England. It is 30 miles 27 chains (48.8 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Sawbridgeworth and Stansted Mountfitchet stations. Its three-letter station code is BIS. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Greater Anglia, including the half-hourly Stansted Express service.

Waytemore Castle is a ruined castle in the town of Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire, England. The remains are a Grade I listed structure.This began as a motte and bailey castle in the time of William the Conqueror. A rectangular great tower was added on the motte in the 12th century. It was improved in the 13th century during the reign of King John and a licence to crenellate was granted in the mid-14th century. It was slighted after the Civil War. In the 17th century it was used as a prison. Only earthworks, the large motte and foundations of a square tower can now be seen.

Birchwood High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England. The school was converted to academy status in February 2012. It used to be a community school under the direct control of Hertfordshire County Council. The school continues to coordinate with the council for admissions. Birchwood High School offers General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSEs) and Business and Technology Education Council (BTECs) as courses of study for pupils, with A Levels offered in the sixth form. The school has been recognised by The Good Schools Guide for the standard of its maths education in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

South Mill Arts is a venue for theatre, contemporary arts and culture, local history, and conferences in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England. One of the buildings, today Bishop's Stortford Museum, was the birthplace of Cecil Rhodes. The complex was refurbished in 2005 and has a 300-seat theatre, a multi-purpose studio space, museum, an exhibition gallery for art and photography, and a café bar. It provides a programme of arts events and hosts professional touring productions, dance groups, musicians and comedians. Films are also shown in its tiered auditorium. Previously called the Rhodes Arts Complex, on 24 August 2020 the arts complex was renamed South Mill Arts in response to the Black Lives Matter protests against institutional racism.

The Corn Exchange is a commercial building in the Market Square in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England. The structure, which is currently used to accommodate shops and offices, is a Grade II listed building.

The Boar's Head Inn is a Grade II* listed public house in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England. The timber framed building was built in the late 16th or early 17th century, and substantially modified in the 18th and 19th centuries. Repair materials in the stables section date to the 15th century.

Rushy Mead is a 4.6-hectare (11-acre) nature reserve on the bank of the River Stort in Essex, between Sawbridgeworth and Bishop's Stortford. Until the 1950s it was the site of a pumping station for a sewage works. It is owned by Thames Water and Wimpey Homes, and managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust. The name Rushy Mead comes from an old map showing the area as riverside meadows.The site has areas of sedges and reeds with water near the surface all year. They provide protection for snipe and water rails in the winter, and sedge and reed warblers in the summer. The northern part is alder woodland with some ash and willow. In drier areas there is chalk grassland which supports a wide variety of wild flowers. The site also has many species of invertebrates.There is access from the Stort navigation towpath and from Hallingbury Road.

The Bishop's Stortford High School (often abbreviated to TBSHS) is a comprehensive secondary school, with a coeducational sixth form, in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England. The school admits boys aged 11 to 16 in the first five years, with a mixed sixth form of boys and girls aged 16 to 18. The school had specialisms in Mathematics and Computing, focusing on these areas as well as music, drama and sport, possessing state-of-the-art in-house computing facilities and providing assistance to local schools in this area. The current Headmaster, Mr D Reeve, was appointed in January 2014.In September 2024 the school is due to move to a purpose built new school on nearby St James' Park.
