Olympic (constituency)

Park Avenue (Chinese: 柏景灣; Jyutping: baak3 ging2 waan1) is a private housing estate in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was one of the projects connected with the MTR Olympic station Phase II development and is built on the reclaimed land of the former Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter. Developed by the consortium of MTR Corporation, Sino Land, Kerry Properties, Bank of China (Hong Kong) and China Overseas Land and Investment in 2001, it comprises five high-rise buildings (Block 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) with a total of 1,592 units.

Cherry Street is a street in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was a street to Tai Kok Tsui Ferry Pier. After the reclamation of the West Kowloon in 1990s, it became a road across the new reclamation and a tunnel was built under the Olympic station. The name of street, cherry, like other streets in Tai Kok Tsui, was named after different kinds of trees. The construction shaft of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link is also located there.

Florient Rise (Chinese: 海桃灣; Jyutping: hoi2 tou4 waan1; formerly Cherry Street Project, 櫻桃街項目) is a private housing estate in Cherry Street, Tai Kok Tsui, Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon, Hong Kong near Olympic station. It was jointly developed by Nan Fung Group and Urban Renewal Authority (URA) in 2008 and completed the construction in May 2009. It comprises three blocks with a total of 522 units.

Tai Kok Tsui Ferry Pier (1972–1992) (Chinese: 大角咀碼頭) was a ferry pier in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It started operation in 1972, together with an adjacent bus terminus, to replace the Mong Kok Ferry Pier in Mong Kok. It provided a ferry service to and from Central, Hong Kong and Guangzhou, Mainland China. Its cross-boundary ferry terminal position was replaced by the Hong Kong China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui in 1988. It was then closed in 1992 to cope with land reclamation work for the Airport Core Programme. The bus terminus remained in use until it was relocated to a new reclaimed area in west Tai Kok Tsui in 1995. The pier has been reclaimed and the HSBC Centre now stands where the former bus terminal used to be. Monty Python comedian Michael Palin passed through the Ferry Pier in June 1988 while filming for the BBC series Around the World in 80 Days. He took a ferry to Guangzhou.

Mong Kok Ferry Pier (1924–1972) (Chinese: 旺角碼頭) was a ferry pier to the west of Shantung Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong, located inside the old Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter. The site was covered over during land reclamation under the West Kowloon Reclamation Project.

HSBC Centre (Chinese: 滙豐中心; Jyutping: wui6 fung1 zung1 sam1) is an office building of HSBC in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It consists of a 14-storey and two twin connected 15-storey office towers resting on a 1-level podium with a public transport interchange and a 2-level basement carpark were built.Formerly Tai Kok Tsui Ferry Pier Bus Terminus, the building was developed by Sino Land in 1998 during the development of Olympian City. Later, Sino sold the office part of the building to HSBC at HK$4 billion. Then HSBC's back office started there in 1999.

Po Leung Kuk Camões Tan Siu Lin Primary School is a primary school in Hong Kong, previously known as Portuguese Community Schools, Inc. (Escola Camões); demonym: Camõesian. The school is located at 6 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It has a multicultural environment with over 1,000 students from 18 different countries.

Olympic is a station on the Tung Chung line of Hong Kong's MTR. The livery is dodger blue. The station was originally named Tai Kok Tsui in proposals outlined by the government in the Airport Core Programme during the 1990s. In 1996, however, when Lee Lai-shan won the first ever Olympic gold medal of Hong Kong in windsurfing at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics and two Hong Kong sportsmen, Cheung Yiu-cheung and Chiu Chung-lun, also won Gold medals in the Paralympic Games of the same year, the (then-under construction) station was renamed Olympic on 16 December 1996, paying tribute to those achievements of Hong Kong athletes. The station is decorated with the pictures of the 1996 Summer Olympics and is named after the Olympic Games. Olympic is only one of two stations on the Tung Chung line not shared with another line, the other being Tung Chung.

West Kowloon Corridor is part of Route 5 in Hong Kong. Bypassing existing surface roads in West Kowloon, it connects Lai Chi Kok Road in Cheung Sha Wan with the Gascoigne Road Flyover near Yau Ma Tei. The highway was built in 4 phases: Phase 1 (1977) consists of a flyover 1.2 km (0.75 mi) long, linking Gascoigne Road and Ferry Street. This section is characterised by the section of road going through Yaumatei Carpark Building. Phase 2 (1983) includes flyovers between Cherry Street in Tai Kok Tsui and Yen Chow Street in Sham Shui Po. It runs on separate viaducts in each direction: southbound traffic goes over Tung Chau Street and Tong Mi Road, while northbound traffic goes over Cherry Street and Tai Kok Tsui Road before merging over Tung Chau Street. Phase 3 (1987) carries on over Tung Chau Street to meet Lai Chi Kok Road in Cheung Sha Wan. Phase 4 was completed in 1997, connecting the flyovers of phases 1 and 2.To make way for the new Fu Cheong Estate, the off-slips at the old terminus on Yen Chow Street were demolished; they have yet to be replaced. Many red public minibus routes which serve between New Territories West (Yuen Long, Tuen Mun, Tsuen Wan or Kwai Chung) and Kowloon South (Mong Kok or Jordan Road) or Hong Kong Island are routed via West Kowloon Corridor so as to provide faster routes to Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei and Jordan to avoid traffic congestion in Sham Shui Po.

Sham Mong Road (Chinese: 深旺道) is a major road on the new reclamation of the 1990s in western Kowloon and New Kowloon of Hong Kong.

HKMA David Li Kwok Po College is a directly subsidised (DSS) college in Hong Kong, using English as the primary medium of instruction.Founded in 2000, HKMA David Li Kwok Po College provides bilingual and multicultural education to learners in Hong Kong. As an English Medium of Instruction school, all school subjects are taught in English, except Chinese language for junior forms, which is taught in Cantonese. The college's team of teachers come from Anglophone countries such as Hong Kong, Canada, Malaysia, France, India and the UK. In 2010, the College has maintained a ratio whereby more than 15% of their teaching staff has been recruited from outside of Hong Kong. Furthermore, 97% of its teaching staff possess both recognized university degrees and teaching qualifications.

The Hong Kong Federation of Students (HKFS, Chinese: 香港專上學生聯會 or 學聯) is a student organisation founded in May 1958 by the student unions of four higher education institutions in Hong Kong. The inaugural committee had seven members representing the four schools. The purpose of the HKFS is to promote student movements and to enhance the student body's engagement in society. Since the 1990s, the federation has taken an interest in daily events in Hong Kong, and no longer restricts itself to the areas of education and politics. The HKFS council (代表會) is convened by representatives of the university student unions. The representatives are elected by the university students. A standing committee is appointed by the council.
