Fürth (German: [fʏʁt] (listen); East Franconian: Färdd; Yiddish: פיורדא, romanized: Fiurda) is a city in northern Bavaria, Germany, in the administrative division (Regierungsbezirk) of Middle Franconia. It is now contiguous with the larger city of Nuremberg, the centres of the two cities being only seven km (4.3 mi) apart. Fürth is one of 23 "major centres" in Bavaria. Fürth, Nuremberg, Erlangen and some smaller towns form the "Middle Franconian Conurbation", which is one of the 11 German metropolitan regions. Fürth celebrated its thousand year anniversary in 2007, its first mention being on 1 November 1007.

Also, the station is the fourth U-Bahn station within Fürth, when coming from Nuremberg.

St. Michael is a Lutheran church and parish in Fürth, Bavaria, Germany, also called Stadtpfarrkirche St. Michael, indicating that it is the town's most prominent church. Building began in the 12th century. After Fürth became Protestant the building was remodelled in Baroque style, including balconies. An organ and stained-glass windows were installed in the 20th century.

The Battle of Fürth was fought on 3 September 1632 between the Catholic forces of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II and the Protestant forces of King Gustavus II (Gustavus Adolphus) of Sweden during the period of Swedish intervention in the Thirty Years War. The tactical victory by the Catholic forces allowed the Imperial army to quickly advance into Saxony, while the Swedish forces were forced into retreat.
