Untertürkheim

Untertürkheim station is a railway station in Untertürkheim, an outer district of Stuttgart, Germany, on the city's S-Bahn, or S-line. The station formerly included a freight yard and the abbreviation of the station precinct, including the yards, is TSU. Located near Württemberg mountain, Untertürkheim is home to the headquarters of Daimler AG and the original Mercedes-Benz assembly plant.

The Württemberg Mausoleum is a mausoleum located on the Württemberg, in the Rotenberg borough of Untertürkheim, in Stuttgart. It was designed by Giovanni Salucci for King William I of Württemberg to house the remains his second wife, Catherine Pavlovna of Russia. Construction elapsed over four years, from 1820 to 1824, while work on its decor lasted another four years. The remains of William I, Catherine, and their daughter Maria Friederike Charlotte, are housed in the mausoleum. Around 40,000 people visited the Mausoleum in 2018.

The Württemberg (official name until 1907: Rotenberg) is a hill on the territory of the German city of Stuttgart, capital of Baden-Württemberg. Its peak lies above vineyards at 411 m above sea level, on the eastern edge of the Stuttgart cauldron valley, in the Rotenberg quarter of Stuttgart's district of Untertürkheim, overlooking the Neckar valley with the Daimler-Benz industrial plant and the Mercedes-Museum. The name of the hill is probably derived from Wirdeberg, a hill in Luxembourg, the possible origin of the Württemberg family. Other theories claim it came from Celto-Romanic sources (Wirodunum). It is homonymous to the name of the area and historic territory of Württemberg, which is now a part of the state of Baden-Württemberg. In 1083, Burg Wirtemberg was erected on the hill, family seat of the rulers of Württemberg. In 1824, Württemberg Mausoleum was built on the site of the former castle by King Wilhelm I of Württemberg for his second wife, Catherine Pavlovna of Russia, who had died in 1819 at the early age of 30. The architect was Giovanni Salucci. The hill was renamed Württemberg from Rotenberg in 1907 by Wilhelm II, the last King of Württemberg.

Wirtemberg Castle, a ruined hilltop castle, is the second family seat of the House of Württemberg, whose ancestors had abandoned Beutelsbach Castle (also known as "Kappelberg Castle"). Built on the eponymous Württemberg mountain in a spur of the Schurwald around 411 m (1,348 ft) above sea level, it is located in the current municipality of Rotenberg in Stuttgart, between Bad Cannstatt and Esslingen am Neckar. Between 1080 and 1819, three castles with this name existed in the area.

Rotenberg is a village which is a part of the Untertürkheim district of the City of Stuttgart, Germany. The area overlooks Untertürkheim and the Neckar valley and lies on the north and east slopes of the hill known as Württemberg (previously Wirtemberg). On this hill the first castle of the Counts of Württemberg was built in 1083 by Conrad of Beutelsbach who subsequently became Konrad I, Count of Württemberg and is considered the founder of the Württemberg dynasty. The hill also gave its name to the State of Württemberg. The castle was rebuilt in 1316 by Count Eberhard I. However, in about 1330 Eberhard built the "Old Castle" in what is now the centre of Stuttgart. The castle on Württemberg fell into disuse as a royal residence. In 1534 the castle was rebuilt a third time by Ulrich, Duke of Württemberg who had been restored to the throne after entering exile in 1519. By 1819 the castle was in ruins. King William I of Württemberg (whose father, Frederick III, Duke of Württemberg became king in 1806) built Württemberg Mausoleum on the hill for his second wife Queen Catherine (1788–1819) (daughter of Tsar Paul I of Russia and Sophie Dorothea of Württemberg ). After his death in 1864, King William was also buried in the mausoleum (German: "Grabkapelle Württemberg"). Today the mausoleum is an important local landmark as it is visible from many areas of east Stuttgart. Amnong the notable people of Rotenberg are Christian Gentner and Käte Schaller-Härlin.

Stuttgart Neckarpark station is in the German city of Stuttgart and is located at the chainage of 5.6 kilometres (measured from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof) on the Fils Valley Railway and is a station on the network of the Stuttgart S-Bahn.

LKA Longhorn is a 1,500-capacity music venue located in Stuttgart, Germany. Founded in 1984, the venue was originally a country and western club. By 1987 the club expanded to other genres of music such as pop and rock. shackspace is a Stuttgart hackerspace run by shack e.V., a non-profit association, established in 2009. Originally located in North Stuttgart, it moved to Stuttgart-Wangen in March 2011. It is among the largest and fastest-growing hackerspaces in Germany, with over 110 paying members. Dürrbach is a river of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The Dürrbach springs northeast of the district and similar named mountain Frauenkopf of Stuttgart. It is a left tributary of the Neckar in Hedelfingen, a district of Stuttgart.

The MHPArena (German pronunciation: [ɛmhaːpeː ʔaˌʁeːna]) is a stadium located in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and home to Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. Before 1993 it was called the Neckarstadion ([ˈnɛkaʁˌʃtaːdi̯ɔn] ), named after the nearby river Neckar. Between 1993 and July 2008 it was called the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion [ˌɡɔtliːpˈdaɪmlɐˌʃtaːdi̯ɔn]. The stadium was renamed the Mercedes-Benz Arena at the beginning of the 2008–09 season, starting with a pre-season friendly against Arsenal on 30 July 2008. On 1 July 2023, the stadium was renamed the MHPArena.

The Scharrena Stuttgart (SCHARRena Stuttgart official spelling) is a multi-purpose hall in Stuttgart's Bad Cannstatt district. The hall is located on the fairgrounds Neckar Park, is the MHPArena affiliated, under Unterthürkheimer Kurve (stand of MHPArena. Their capacity is a maximum of 2,019 seats. Since April 2011, the Hall home ground of women's volleyball national league Smart Alliance Stuttgart.
