Latchford railway station was a station in Latchford, Cheshire, England. The first station at Latchford was called Latchford and Grappenhall Road and opened in 1853; this was renamed Latchford in June 1854 but it closed in 1893, when a new alignment was opened in connection with the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal, and a new Latchford station was opened nearby. This closed to passengers on 10 September 1962. The station was on the LNWR's Ditton Junction to Skelton Junction line and was used by Ditton Junction–Manchester and Liverpool–Manchester through trains.

Latchford is a suburb and electoral ward of Warrington, Cheshire, England. It is around one mile south-east of Warrington town centre and has a total resident population of 7,856.Latchford is a predominantly residential area, Latchford lies between the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal, and broadly consists of 19th-century terraced housing and some open space. The canal is crossed here by a swing bridge, a high-level road bridge and the now disused Latchford railway viaduct. Its name came from Anglo-Saxon Læccford meaning "boggy-stream ford".

Stockton Heath is a civil parish and suburb of Warrington, in the Borough of Warrington, Cheshire, England. It is located to the north of the Bridgewater Canal and to the south of the Manchester Ship Canal, which divides Stockton Heath from Latchford and north Warrington. It has a total resident population of 6,396.Victoria Square is at the centre of Stockton Heath and is on the crossroads of the A49 and A56. Until the 1970s, the Victoria Hotel stood on this square but its location has been redeveloped. North of the square is the main shopping area which includes the Forge Shopping Centre, developed on the site of the old forge (Caldwell's). Stockton Heath is home to a number of modern bars and restaurants, as well as traditional public houses. The Red Lion Inn dates back to the early 19th century and the Mulberry Tree on Victoria Square, opened in its present building (replacing earlier premises dating from 1725) in March 1907 [1]. Since 1988, much of the centre of Stockton Heath has been designated a conservation area to preserve its character but, at the same time, there has been redevelopment work with several new bars and restaurants moving into the centre of Stockton Heath.

The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building, and is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester and the deanery of Great Budworth.

The Howley Bridge is a pedestrian footbridge which spans the River Mersey in Warrington, England. It connects Howley in Warrington to Victoria Park in Latchford. The bridge was constructed in 1912 by the London-based David Rowell & Co. It is a suspension bridge, constructed primarily of wrought iron with steel suspension cables and a timber-planked walkway. The bridge is similar in construction, appearance and properties to other bridges made by the company, such as Daly's Bridge. The Howley Bridge also shares the shakiness for which Daly's Bridge is known. The bridge received maintenance during the construction of the Warrington Flood defences.The bridge is a registered Grade II listed building.

Priestley Sixth Form and Community College is a sixth form college in Warrington, Cheshire, England. It also offers adult courses and professional training on another site, and is an associate college of the University of Salford. The college offers a range of courses, including AS/A2 Levels, BTECs, Advanced Diplomas, functional skills, and pre-university foundation courses.

Cardinal Newman Catholic High School is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school. It is graded by Ofsted as a 'Good' school that educates approximately 739 children between 11 and 16 years of age. Ofsted also said that 'Cardinal Newman is a school which has much to be proud of and an exciting future to look forward to. It is a good and improving school.' It is located in the town of Warrington in Cheshire, England. In June 2017, a small fire was found in a ground floor room which caused Firefighters from Warrington and Stockton Heath station to attend.

The County Borough of Warrington was, from 1847 to 1974, a local government district centred on Warrington in Lancashire, northwest England. It was alternatively known as Warrington County Borough and the County of Warrington. The district became a county borough in 1900, until then being the Municipal Borough of Warrington, which had, in turn, been based on the older ancient borough of Warrington. This had received its charter in 1847. These earlier local government districts had crossed the county boundary line and contained small parts of parishes in Cheshire, namely, Latchford, Cheshire and Thelwall though these anomalies were rectified in 1894 and 1884, respectively.The County Borough of Warrington was abolished by the Local Government Act 1972 and its territory, along with that of Warrington Rural District transferred to Cheshire to form part of the Borough of Warrington.

Westy is a suburban district in Warrington, England. It lies between the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal. The village of Westy is a suburban area, itself unofficially a suburb of Latchford. The area features mainly inter-war council housing, however some of these homes are now privately owned. There is an apparent strong community spirit with its hub at the community centre and also a thriving community hall based within St Margaret's Community Centre on Lindley Avenue, hosting activities for all age groups.

Wilderspool is a district of Warrington, Cheshire, near the town centre. It consists of Wilderspool Causeway and the streets coming off it, the limits being the River Mersey into Stockton Heath (where it turns into London Road), Bridgefoot (near the town centre), and Centre Park. The district incorporates Priestley College, Wilderspool Stadium, Wilderspool depot (owned by Warrington's Own Buses), a Morrisons supermarket, and the Riverside Retail Park. Excavations in the area have shown Roman settlement, and there are parts of a walled town with evidence of industrial activity.
