Kunč (pronounced [ˈkuːntʃ]; in older sources also Kunče, German: Kuntschen, Gottscheerish: Kuntschn) is a remote abandoned settlement in the Municipality of Dolenjske Toplice in southern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. Its territory is now part of the village of Podstenice. Northeast of Kunč there is an ice-filled cave called Ice Cave (Slovene: Ledena jama). It is connected to Kunč by a path and people would go to the cave for ice during times of drought.

Novi Breg (pronounced [ˈnɔːʋi ˈbɾeːk]; German: Neubacher) is a remote abandoned settlement in the Municipality of Kočevje in southern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. Its territory is now part of the village of Trnovec.

At the start of the Second World War its population was expelled and in 1942 the village was burned to the ground. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.

The Kočevski Rog massacre was a series of massacres near Kočevski Rog in late May 1945 in which thousands of members of the Nazi Germany–allied Slovene Home Guard were executed, without formal charges or trial, by special units of the Yugoslav Partisans; other victims were Croat, Serb and Montenegrin collaborationists as well as much smaller numbers of Italian and German troops.
