Barrio Suecia (Spanish for "Swedish neighborhood") is a section of Santiago, Chile, centered on Calle Suecia ("Sweden Street"), in the upscale Providencia municipality, which once included many pubs, discos and restaurants. The Costanera Center is a business and commercial complex that includes a six-floor shopping mall, the Gran Torre Santiago and three other skyscrapers – two high-end hotels and an office building. The complex is located in the commune of Providencia, Santiago, Chile, and is owned by the holding Cencosud. The tallest of the four buildings, the Torre Costanera, was designed by architect César Pelli and is 300 metres (980 ft) tall, making it the tallest building in Latin America and the third tallest in the Southern Hemisphere after Indonesia's Autograph Tower in Jakarta at 388m tall and Australia's Q1 on the Gold Coast at 322 metres (1,056 ft) tall. Of the two other buildings in the complex, one will be 170 metres (560 ft) high and the other only four stories. Construction was put on hold in January 2009 as a consequence of the late 2000s recession, as the developers were concerned that they would not be able to find tenants if completed by the originally proposed date. After the recession reached its end, Cencosud announced the construction would resume on December 16, 2009. The construction process restarted at the end of 2010. On February 14, 2012, the Gran Torre Santiago reached 300 meters and became the tallest building in South and Latin America.

The Costanera Center Torre 2, better known as Gran Torre Santiago (Great Santiago Tower), and previously known as Torre Gran Costanera, is a 62-story tall skyscraper in Santiago, Chile, the second tallest in Latin America (behind Mexico's T.Op Torre 1). It is the fourth-tallest building in the Southern hemisphere by highest architectural feature (behind New Zealand's Sky Tower, Australia's Q1 Tower and Australia 108) and third-tallest by highest occupied floor (after Australia's Australia 108 and Eureka Tower). It was designed by Argentine architect César Pelli, Chilean architects Alemparte Barreda & Asociados, and the Canadian company Watt International.

Pedro de Valdivia is an underground metro station on the Line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. The station is named for the nearby Pedro de Valdivia Avenue, which in turn was named for Pedro de Valdivia. It was opened on 22 August 1980 as part of the extension of the line from Salvador to Escuela Militar.The platform level features a vaulted drop ceiling of stained glass. A second work of art is entitled La Ciudad (The City), which consists of four enameled steel murals placed on the walls of the four platform stairways. Both artworks were unveiled on January 13, 1999.
