Woodland Pattern Book Center is a nonprofit organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin's Riverwest neighborhood that is dedicated to the discovery, cultivation, and presentation of poetry and the arts. The organization was founded in 1979 by Karl Gartung, Anne Kingsbury, and Karl Young, and was named after a passage in poet Paul Metcalf's Apalache: "South of Lake Superior, a culture center, the Woodland Pattern, with pottery but without agriculture..."Founder Anne Kingsbury served as Woodland Pattern's Executive Director until her retirement in March 2018. The organization is currently co-directed by poets Jenny Gropp and Laura Solomon.Woodland Pattern is a founding member of the Poetry Coalition, a national alliance of more than 25 organizations dedicated to working together to promote the value poets bring to our culture and the important contribution poetry makes in the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds.

The Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP) is a Milwaukee-based community archive dedicated to preserving queer zines and queer zine culture. Part of the archive's mission is to make the collection accessible through digitizing these zines and making them publicly accessible in an online format. The archive has received zine donations from across the world. QZAP has been noted by University of Milwaukie professor Joyce Latham as a powerful "response of the queer community to the history, and practice, of marginalization and disregard."QZAP was founded in November 2003 by Milo Miller and Chris Wilde. It has since maintained a physical collection in Milwaukee and a free online archive of digitized zines.

The Cream City Collectives (CCC) was a volunteer-run collective space located at 732 E. Clarke St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It existed from 2006 until 2012.

Sharing The Load is a public artwork by American artist Dan Leonhardt, located at Garden Park in the Riverwest neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. The sculpture is made of steel and stone and was installed by the artist in 1996.

Borchert Field was a baseball park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. The home field for several professional baseball clubs from 1888 through 1952, it became obsolete after the construction of County Stadium in 1953 and was demolished later that year. The site is now covered by Interstate 43.The park was built on a rectangular block bounded by North 7th, North 8th, West Chambers, and West Burleigh Streets. Home plate was at the south end (Chambers), with the outfield bounded by the outer fence, making fair territory home-plate-shaped, with short fields in left and right and very deep power alleys, a configuration used by a number of ballparks of the era that were constrained by a narrow block. The playing field's approximate elevation was 690 feet (210 m) above sea level.

Tip is a public art work by American artist David Middlebrook, located in the Riverwest neighborhood north of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The sculpture was created for Gordon Park as part of a revitalization initiative.

Blue Dress Park is the name given to a derelict piece of urban space in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, by conceptual artist Paul Druecke in 2000. The site is located on the northwest edge of the Holton Street Bridge, where it connects the Milwaukee East Side neighborhoods of Brewer's Hill, Riverwest, and Brady Street, and is a large concrete expanse surrounded by a low iron fence. In the summer of 2000, Druecke staged a "christening celebration" with champagne and chamber music on the site, temporarily transforming it into a "crowded meeting place".In 2010, Druecke formed a collaborative effort with Los Angeles-based artist Sara Daleiden, a founding member of the LA Urban Rangers, to create the Friends of Blue Dress Park. Board members include Anna-Marie Opgenorth, Brian Reilly, John Riepenhoff, Wendy Slocum, Karin Wolf, and Steve Wetzel. Druecke serves as Creative Liaison for the informal organization. The Friends of Blue Dress Park held "Condiments Provided," a community gathering and brat tasting event on May 21, 2011.

North Division High School (now North Division Virtual University High School) is one of the major public high schools in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, part of the Milwaukee Public Schools. It began operation in 1906, was abolished in 2006, and was reinstituted in 2011.

Lakefront Brewery, Inc. is a brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. The brewery is based in the Beerline B neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded in 1987 by brothers Russ and Jim Klisch, several of its brands are named after Milwaukee neighborhoods, such as Riverwest Stein Beer and East Side Dark. The brewery was the first in the U.S. to bottle fruit beer since prohibition was repealed, starting in 1992 with the seasonal Lakefront Cherry Lager. The brewery often uses Wisconsin-grown ingredients, including Door County cherries. The brewery produced the first certified organic beer to be bottled in the U.S. starting in 1996 with their Lakefront Organic E.S.B. (extra special bitter). The ale is brewed using 100% organic malt and hops. President, owner and founder Russ Klisch started a partnership with Wisconsin farmers to grow organic hops in his home state.In May 2007, The Wisconsin Department of Tourism announced that Lakefront Brewery had become the first brewery in the state and the first business in the City of Milwaukee to receive the Travel Green Wisconsin certification. Travel Green Wisconsin recognizes tourism-related businesses that are reducing their environmental impact through operational and other improvements. To achieve Travel Green certification, businesses must meet several goals including demonstration of how they encourage staff and vendors to be environmentally aware and how they reduce their waste and energy consumption. The brewery is noted for its gluten-free brand, New Grist, which is brewed using sorghum and gluten-free yeast. The brewery successfully petitioned the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau to allow this product to be called a beer despite not having the previously required 25% malted barley content, thus creating the first gluten-free beer in America.Growth of the brewery has been strong in recent years, especially due to the gluten-free product. The brewery shipped 8,863 barrels of beer to wholesalers in 2006, a 2,571 barrels, or 41% increase from the 2005 total. The success of the gluten-free product has attracted competitive interest from other brewers, large and small.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a public art work designed by American artist Erik Blome, located in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The bronze sculpture depicts the civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. standing on a pedestal of books. It was commissioned by the YWCA of Greater Milwaukee and is located in front of the King Heights apartments.

43°03′53″N 87°55′34″W Wright Street Grounds is a former baseball ground located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The ground was home to the Milwaukee Brewers of the Union Association in 1884, and minor league versions of the same team during early 1884 and 1885 through 1888. The ballpark was located on the block bounded by West Wright Street, West Clarke Street, North Eleventh Street, and North Twelfth Street. The Brewers played most of the 1884 season as members of the Northwestern League. They came into the Union as a late-season replacement. Their first home game was September 27, and their last was October 12. The club returned to the NWL in 1885. 1885 also saw some major league ball, as the Chicago White Stockings of the National League, who would win the league championship that year, staged a couple of games in Milwaukee: September 4, vs. the Buffalo Bisons; and September 25, vs. the Providence Grays. Those two teams were both in their final years in the National League.

The Baasen House-German YMCA in Milwaukee, Wisconsin dates from 1874. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It is a three-story brick building with a one-story brick-veneered 44 by 48 feet (13 m × 15 m) gable-roofed extension. The original house was built in 1874 for John F. Baasen, a leading citizen and a director of the Milwaukee-Horicon Railroad and of the Berlin and Lake Superior Railroad. It was designed in Italian Villa style by architect Charles A. Gombert and was one of few brick houses in the Brewers' Hill neighborhood.The house was home of the German Branch of the YMCA during 1888 to 1893; the extension, housing a gymnasium, was added in 1889.
