Silver Ridge is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Berkeley Township, in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 1,133.

Toms River High School South is a comprehensive four-year public high school, and was the first high school established in Toms River (formerly Dover Township) in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as part of the Toms River Regional Schools. The school day starts at 7:15 AM and lasts six hours and 20 minutes. Toms River high schools have some of the earliest daily closing high schools in New Jersey, closing at 1:35 PM every day.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,381 students and 91.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.0:1. There were 292 students (21.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 74 (5.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.The school colors are maroon and White. The school has four mascots: Indian, Indian Princess, Super Maroon, and Spirit. During the 2014–15 school year, the mascots were Indian XLVII, Princess XLVI, Super Maroon XXXVII, and Spirit XVI. The mascots appear at every football game of the High School South Indians, which also feature the longtime "Voice of the Indians", P. David Correll Jr., as public address announcer.

The Waterhouse Museum was located in Toms River, New Jersey. The museum exhibited art by Colonel Charles Waterhouse, a U. S. Marine veteran of the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II. The works at the museum depicted military scenes from the American Revolutionary War to the present with a focus on the Marine Corps. Huddy Park is a location in Highlands, New Jersey. Dedicated to the patriot hero Joshua Huddy of the American Revolutionary War, who was hanged there in 1782, Huddy Park is the site of the local "Clamfest" since 1994.

Toms River High School North is the largest of all schools in the Toms River Regional School district. The TRHSN mascot is the Mariner, and the school colors are navy blue and gold. The other high schools in the district are Toms River High School East and Toms River High School South. As of 2020, the school day starts at 7:15 am and lasts six hours and 20 minutes. Toms River high schools have some of the earliest daily opening and closing high schools in New Jersey, closing at 1:35 pm every day. Parents lobbied for later high school start times in 2014, but the district found that the cost to purchase the additional buses and additional drivers necessary to accommodate the change would be prohibitive.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,886 students and 133.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.1:1. South Toms River is a borough in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 3,643, a decrease of 41 (−1.1%) from the 2010 census count of 3,684, which in turn reflected an increase of 50 (+1.4%) from the 3,634 counted in the 2000 census.South Toms River was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 28, 1927, from portions of Berkeley Township, based on the results of a referendum held on May 3, 1927. The borough was named for the Toms River and the neighboring community of Toms River, which were named for Capt. William Tom.

The RWJBarnabas Health Arena (formerly known as the Ritacco Center, Poland Spring Arena, and Pine Belt Arena) is a 3,208-seat multi-purpose arena in Toms River, New Jersey. Opened in 2003, the facility hosts various local concerts and sporting events for the area.
