Ocean County Courthouse

The Ocean County Jail was located on Sheriff Street in Toms River in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1851, behind the Ocean County Courthouse, and was both the county jail and the sheriff's house. The historic brick building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 13, 1982, for its significance in architecture and politics/government. It was listed as part of the Old Village of Toms River Multiple Property Submission (MPS). It was approved to be demolished in 2014, and scheduled to be demolished in 2019.

Ocean County Library is a public library system that serves 32 municipalities out of the 33 municipalities of Ocean County, New Jersey. Beach Haven on Long Beach Island is not a member municipality. The Headquarters branch is in Toms River. It also offers Outreach services to life care centers, Books by Mail and Home Borrowers services for the homebound, and a volunteer program. There are active Friends of the Library groups associated with individual branches. There are approximately 380,000 registered borrowers, and 290,000 bibliographic records in the catalog. Annual circulation was near 4.4 million in 2014. All library locations have free wireless access to the Internet and internet terminals for public use.

Linden Public Library is a public library system that serves over 30 towns including Linden, Elizabeth, Clark, Roselle, Plainfield in Union County, New Jersey. The Linden Free Public Library maintains an organized system for collecting, storing, and circulating materials for library patrons so that they can be retrieved when needed. There are active Friends of the Library groups associated with two branches. There are approximately 13,091 registered resident borrowers, 1,269 non-resident borrowers, and 72,000 bibliographic records in the catalog. Annual circulation was 66,626 in 2009. The main library offers free wireless access to the Internet and Internet Terminals for public use.

It was listed as part of the Old Village of Toms River Multiple Property Submission (MPS).

The Stoutenburgh–Minturn House is located at 86 East Water Street in Toms River in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. The Victorian Gothic house was built in 1868 for Rebecca Finn. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 13, 1982, for its significance in architecture. It was listed as part of the Old Village of Toms River Multiple Property Submission (MPS). It is currently used as an event rental space for weddings and photography.

The Waterhouse Museum was located in Toms River, New Jersey. The museum exhibited art by Colonel Charles Waterhouse, a U. S. Marine veteran of the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II. The works at the museum depicted military scenes from the American Revolutionary War to the present with a focus on the Marine Corps. Toms River High School South is a comprehensive four-year public high school, and was the first high school established in Toms River (formerly Dover Township) in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as part of the Toms River Regional Schools. The school day starts at 7:15 AM and lasts six hours and 20 minutes. Toms River high schools have some of the earliest daily closing high schools in New Jersey, closing at 1:35 PM every day.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,381 students and 91.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.0:1. There were 292 students (21.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 74 (5.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.The school colors are maroon and White. The school has four mascots: Indian, Indian Princess, Super Maroon, and Spirit. During the 2014–15 school year, the mascots were Indian XLVII, Princess XLVI, Super Maroon XXXVII, and Spirit XVI. The mascots appear at every football game of the High School South Indians, which also feature the longtime "Voice of the Indians", P. David Correll Jr., as public address announcer.

The Captain Amos Birdsall House was located at 234 Washington Street in Toms River in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. The historic Colonial Revival house was built in 1868. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 13, 1982, for its significance in social history. It was destroyed by fire on May 31, 2016.
