Burnside, Nova Scotia

The Raid on Dartmouth (also referred to as the Dartmouth Massacre) occurred during Father Le Loutre's War on May 13, 1751, when a Miꞌkmaq and Acadian militia from Chignecto, under the command of Acadian Joseph Broussard, raided Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, destroying the town and killing twenty British villagers and wounding British regulars. The town was protected by a blockhouse on Blockhouse Hill (close to the corner of King St. and North St.) with William Clapham's Rangers and British regulars from the 45th Regiment of Foot. This raid was one of seven the Natives and Acadians would conduct against the town during the war.

The Dartmouth Yacht Club is a yacht club located in Wright's Cove in Halifax Harbour's Bedford Basin, next to Burnside Industrial Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. The club has a history dating to 1962.

Burnside Drive is a four-lane divided roadway, with a speed limit of 80 km/h, that serves the Burnside Business Park in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) community of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The road parallels Highway 118, running north from exit 3 of Highway 111 to Akerley Boulevard, a western extension of Highway 107. Although some maps produced by the province show Burnside Drive, as well as a portion of Akerley Boulevard, as part of Highway 107, these roads are actually maintained by the HRM, and Highway 107 becomes Akerley Boulevard about halfway between Highway 118 and Burnside Drive.

Wright's Cove is a cove on the Dartmouth side of Bedford Basin in Halifax Harbour Nova Scotia Canada within the Halifax Regional Municipality. Located in the cove is the Dartmouth Yacht Club, an Ultramar wharf, a Gypsum loading facility operated by National Gypsum Company and a Canadian Forces armament depot . The cove is sheltered from Bedford Basin by Navy Island and Sheppard's Island. It is the birthplace of George Henry Wright.

Wallis Heights is a Canadian urban neighbourhood in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality. Wallis Heights is situated immediately north of Shannon Hill at the Northeastern end of the Bedford Basin, around the northern side of the A. Murray MacKay Bridge, also known as 'the new bridge', in the former city of Dartmouth. It was established by the Department of National Defence in the 1950s to house Royal Canadian Navy personnel attached to the Halifax naval base. The community is named after Provo Wallis. Defence cutbacks to the Canadian Forces budget in the mid-1990s coupled with rising real estate maintenance costs saw Wallis Heights sold to a private developer. Some units have been renovated and the entire neighbourhood has been resettled by civilians.

Halifax Transit is a Canadian public transport service operating buses and ferries in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Founded as Metro Transit in March 1981, the agency runs two ferry routes, 66 conventional bus routes (including corridor, local, and express services), three regional express routes (called MetroX), and three rural routes. Halifax Transit also operates Access-a-Bus, a door-to-door paratransit service for senior and disabled citizens. Total ridership in the 2019/20 reporting year was about 30.4 million, with the system carrying an average of 99,320 on weekdays. According to the 2016 census, Halifax had the seventh-highest proportion of workers taking transit to work among Canadian cities.

Highfield Park is a neighbourhood located in the north end of the community of Dartmouth in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality. Highfield Park is located in the larger neighbourhood of Albro Lake (also a part of the North End) and is situated on the former site of the Royal Canadian Navy's Naval Radio Station Albro Lake. Following the merger of Canada's military to form the unified Canadian Forces in 1968, Naval Radio Station Albro Lake was closed and the land surrounding the lake was opened for development during the 1970s and 1980s. Highfield Park is situated at the northern extremity of Dartmouth, immediately south of Highway 111, which separates the neighbourhood from an industrial park in Burnside further to the north. The eastern side of Highfield Park is defined by the neighbourhood of Crystal Heights (as well as Highway 111 as it curves around Albro Lake). Victoria Road defines the southern boundary of the neighbourhood.

The warmest month is August, when the average temperature is 20 °C, and the coldest is January, about -6 °C. Average annual rain is 1,826 mm. The rainy month is December, with an average of 299 mm rainfall, and the driest is May, with 84 mm rainfall.

Tufts Cove is an urban neighbourhood in the community of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is situated on the eastern shore of Halifax Harbour in the North End of Dartmouth. The neighbourhood boundaries of Tufts Cove are approximately from Albro Lake Road in the south to Highway 111 in the north, and from Victoria Road in the east with the harbour to the west.

Dartmouth North Community Centre is a Community centre in Albro Lake a neighbourhood in the north end of the community of Dartmouth in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality. Albro Lake is also known as District 9.

Shannon Park is an urban neighbourhood and former national defence site in the north end of Dartmouth on the eastern shore of Halifax Harbour in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is immediately south of the A. Murray MacKay Bridge in the community of Dartmouth. It straddles Highway 111, a CN Rail freight line, and Halifax Harbour. It is bordered on the south by Tuft's Cove.
