Dorsey Knob is a mountain summit located off U.S. Route 119 at the southern edge of Morgantown in Monongalia County, West Virginia, United States. Dorsey Knob is contained within a park spanning 71 acres (29 ha) that features the mountain's landmark Sky Rock (also referred to as Dorsey Knob). The top of Sky Rock is at an altitude of 1,398 feet (426 m), rising nearly 600 feet (180 m) above the surrounding landscape. It overlooks the Monongahela River and the Appalachian Mountains. Also located in the park is Dorsey's Knob Lodge, operated by Boparc, Morgantown's municipal park authority.

The Morgantown Municipal Ice Arena or Morgantown Ice Arena is a 400-seat multi purpose arena located in White Park in Morgantown, West Virginia. The ice arena has a 185' X 85' sized ice sheet. It is also the home to the West Virginia Mountaineers men's ice hockey team competing at the ACHA Division I level in the College Hockey Mid-America. as well as an auxiliary team competing at the Division II level of the NCHA. The arena is also home to several local high school ice hockey teams, and is used by local figure skating clubs, youth, and adult recreational ice hockey leagues, as well as public skating.

Second Ward Negro Elementary School, also known as the Second Ward Annex, is a historic school building located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. It was built in 1938–1939, and is a one-story, plus basement, T-shaped brick building in the Art Deco style. It sits on a sandstone foundation. Funds for the building's construction were provided by the Works Progress Administration. It functioned as a school for African American students and a community center until the end of segregation in 1954. The building reopened as a school annex and Instructional Materials Center in the 1960s, but ceased being used as a school in 1993.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. It is located in the Greenmont Historic District, listed in 2005.

South Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. The district includes 501 contributing buildings and 5 contributing structures in a primarily residential area south of downtown Morgantown. The district is characterized by tightly packed dwellings on a hillside and represent a variety of post-Victorian architectural styles popular between 1900 and 1940. Notable buildings include the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Morgantown High School, Crestholm Pharmacy, and Bobbette's Confectionary.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Judge Frank Cox House is a historic home located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. It was designed by Morgantown architect Elmer F. Jacobs and built in 1898. It is a 2+1⁄2-story Queen Anne style brick dwelling. It features a three-story tower, ornate wood porches, stained glass windows and elaborate interior woodwork. It was the home of Judge Frank Cox, a prominent lawyer who served as prosecuting attorney and Judge on the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Morgantown High School is a public high school in Morgantown, West Virginia, United States. It is one of three secondary schools in the Monongalia County School District. Athletic teams compete as the Morgantown Mohigans in the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission as a member of the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference. In addition to sections of Morgantown, it serves Star City.Former President George W. Bush visited Morgantown High School.

Kern's Fort, also known as Michael Kern's Cabin, is a historic home located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. It is a one-story log house built in 1772. It is built of chestnut logs and covered with wood clapboards. Attached to the rear is a 19th-century frame addition. It was built by Michael Kern, perhaps, the first permanent settler of what is now Morgantown. When Lord Dunmore's War started in 1774, Kern built a stockaded fort around his cabin.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It is located in the Greenmont Historic District, listed in 2005.

Greenmont Historic District is a national historic district located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. The district includes 409 contributing buildings, 4 contributing structures, and 2 contributing objects in a primarily residential area of the Greenmount neighborhood of Morgantown. Most of the dwellings were built between 1901 and 1925 and are of frame construction with brick or wood facades, one- to 2+1⁄2 stories high with gable fronts. Notable buildings include the Reformation Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Also in the district are the separately listed Kern's Fort, and Hackney House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Ford House is a historic home located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. It was built about 1868, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, "L" shaped Gothic Revival style cottage. It features a steeply pitched gable roof, a Gothic arched window in the center gable, and lattice work in lieu of bargeboard on the front porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Chancery Hill Historic District is a national historic district located at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. The district originally included 109 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site, Oak Grove Cemetery. A boundary increase in 2001, added the already listed Alexander Wade House to the district. The district encompasses a residential area developed in the early-20th century on property that was once the farm of U.S. Senator Waitman T. Willey. It includes examples of popular architectural styles from that period including Queen Anne, American Foursquare, Colonial Revival, and Bungalow.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, with a boundary increase in 2001.

The Alexander Wade House is a historic house at 256 Prairie Street in Morgantown, West Virginia. Built in 1860, it was the home of educator Alexander Wade (1832-1904) from 1872 until his death. Wade is credited with developing a system of grade promotional exams and graduations that was widely adopted in the late 19th century. The house was declared a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1965.
