Brentwood Urban District

Thorndon Park is a 141.4-hectare (349-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Brentwood in Essex. Part of it is run by Essex County Council as Thorndon Country Park, and the Essex Wildlife Trust manages its visitor centre.The site is semi-natural woodland and ancient parkland. It has a diverse population of beetles, including one which is rare and threatened in Britain. The most common trees are sessile and pedunculate oak, silver birch and hornbeam. The parkland has old oak pollards on acid or neutral grassland.The country park is divided into Thorndon Park North, with access from The Avenue, and Thorndon Park South, with access from the A128 road.

The Osborne Sixth Form is a post-16 education sixth form centre with two campuses in Brentwood, Essex and Stanford-Le-Hope, Thurrock. The centre currently educates more than 300 students from North East London and South West Essex. It is run by the Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust. The two campuses are extensions of Brentwood County High School and St Clere's School respectively and the sixth form serves internal students from these schools. Some external candidates between the ages of 16-19 are also admitted provided they meet the entry requirements set by the centre. Most students will follow A-level courses with some students working towards other Level 3 qualifications such as the BTEC.

Brentwood County High School (colloquially referred to as BCHS) is a state-funded academy (formerly a grammar school) located in the town of Brentwood, Essex. The school is a member of the Osborne Co-Operative Academies Trust and educates 842 students from East London and South West Essex. On 1 September 2017 the school was re-opened as a member of the Osborne Co-Operative Academy Trust. In an Ofsted report on 7 June 2022 the school was rated as 'Good'.

Thorndon Park Chapel (The Petre Chapel) is a former Roman Catholic private chapel situated in Thorndon Park, near the grounds of Thorndon Hall near Ingrave, Essex, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Historic Chapels Trust.

Brentwood School is a selective, independent day and boarding school in Brentwood, Essex, England in the public school tradition. The school comprises a preparatory school, senior school and sixth form, as well as boarding provision for both boys and girls. The school is coeducational, and employs the "Diamond Model". The school is a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, the IAPS, and the AGBIS. Founded in 1557 and opened in 1558, the school has a Tudor schoolroom, a Victorian chapel and several Grade II listed buildings. Situated on Ingrave Road, astride Middleton Hall Lane and Shenfield Road, the school is set in over 72 acres (29 ha) of land in the centre of Brentwood. The current headmaster is Michael Bond.

Thorndon Hall is a Georgian Palladian country house within Thorndon Park, Ingrave, Essex, England, approximately two miles south of Brentwood and 25 miles (40 km) from central London. Formerly the country seat of the Petre family who now reside at nearby Ingatestone Hall, the house is located within nearly 600 acres (240 ha) of ancient medieval deer park, meadows and forest. The garden is designed by Capability Brown. Thorndon Hall is Grade-I listed with English Heritage, and the park is Grade II*-listed.

Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School (BUCHS) is an 11–18 girls, Roman Catholic, secondary school and mixed sixth form with academy status in Brentwood, Essex, England. It was established in 1900 and is an Ursuline school. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brentwood.

Old County Ground is a cricket ground in Brentwood, Essex. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1876, when Essex played Suffolk in a non first-class match.Essex played their first first-class match there against Dublin University in 1922. In 1934, Essex returned to the ground where they played Kent in the first County Championship match held at the ground. Essex played 56 further first-class matches there between 1934 and 1969, playing their final first-class match there against Worcestershire.In addition, the ground has also hosted 2 List-A matches, the first of which came in the 1965 Gillette Cup and saw Essex play Derbyshire. The second and final List-A match held there saw Essex play Kent in the 1967 Gillette Cup.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Brentwood Cricket Club who play in the Essex Premier League.

It is in the London commuter belt, situated 20 miles (30 km) east-north-east of Charing Cross and close by the M25 motorway. In 2017, the population of the town was estimated to be 54,885.Brentwood is a suburban town with a small shopping area and high street. Beyond this are residential developments surrounded by open countryside and woodland; some of this countryside lies within only a few hundred yards of the town centre. Since 1978, Brentwood has been twinned with Roth in Germany and with Montbazon in France since 1994. It also has a relationship with Brentwood, Tennessee in the United States.
